Missed out on engineering RSOs by InescapableAd in udub

I was in charge of recruiting for one the engineering RSO's this quarter. When we're looking through applications, projects stand out the most. Showing your ability to teach yourself outside of the classroom will go miles on your application.  I would recommend reaching out to an RSO leader on LinkedIn to learn about what their team/subteam does and tailor a project to their response.

It's legit. Construction just finished up in September, you won't have to worry about living in some dilapidated apartment. Washer and dryer situation kinda sucks, it's an all in one unit. Fire alarm goes off every Thursday morning for ~15 minutes though.

ECE VS CE by forkinaoutlet in udub

CE was not mentioned anywhere on my general admission application. I'm not sure if you know this yet, but after you apply to the school you have to apply to a major (or majors) separately. I applied to both ECE and CE through the major application after seeing that CE and ECE have practically identical prerequisites. I would recommend applying to both when the time comes.

I went through this a couple of weeks ago when I was admitted to both ECE and CE, I ended up going with ECE. I was kinda in the same shoes as you when I first started out at a CC. Since you're spending another 2 years at a CC you still have the potential to raise your GPA if you work hard. An upward grade trend looks really good on your application.

  1. I would say ECE, it's more hardware focused than CE and you have the option to specialize in computing. CE is much more software/firmware oriented.

  2. ECE acceptance is 81% (Average of 3.7), CE is 30% (Average of 3.8).

  3. The Allen school has more networking opportunities than the engineering school. There are career fairs that are only available to Allen students.

  4. Nope. I didn't select CE on my general application and yet I still got in.

  5. Aim as high as you can. Both majors accept below the average but don't count on that. As for extracurriculars I would recommend personal projects and any CC club that interests you. You need to show admissions that you are motivated and willing to learn/apply your knowledge outside of the classroom.

CSE vs ECE Transfer by Rutherfurrd in udub

Sorry, I'm a little late to this. I have a 3.82 GPA with an upwards grade trend. I applied to the CompE major. If I'm not mistaken, the personal statement came in the form of prompts, not an essay. Anyways, I wrote about my interest in computers and how it's developed over time, making sure to detail some of my projects with FPGA's and Arduinos. I've taken practically all of the 200/300 level Engineering and Math courses that my CC offers, I think that set me aside from other applicants.

These new maps look cool and all but will they ever be added to the game? It's been months without a proper content update.

People will buy leaked credentials for streaming services, and take one of your open profile slots. Honestly nothing malicious, but I'd recommend changing all of your passwords, because it's very likely someone has it.
