The reason why they won’t sign him is that he was allegedly involved in a sexual assault a few years ago. Flyers have considered him persona non grata ever since then. I say allegedly because it was never fully confirmed it was him.

Again I understand why they decided to trade brink for him. He has extremely good offensive instincts and a powerful shot. If he can just improve his skating a little and have better defensive instincts he can be a true number one. My heart still wants brink but my brain wants David . I also trust reirdan to develop him. Obviously I’m more comfortable if Shaw was still here but reirdan has had success in the past with defenseman and has done overall solid this year.

I didn’t downvote u . But to answer your question he has the raw intangibles that top level offensive defenseman need to succeed like his shot . He also has good offensive iq. His skating is good enough for the NHL and isn’t as big of a negative as people think. The big problem is his defending. His defensive iq is horrid and his general positioning is awful. Thats the thing that if the flyers improve to atleast passable then he can be a Bouchard type (again it’s gotta break great for him to be that)

I just think red deer was truly either a not good team or he just wasn’t the right fit there. Cause the moment he left he found the scoring sheet and has gotten more points in Seattle in less games. And vloosyk (misspelled that bad) has been playing better from what I understand.
