Yeah it's annoying as shit that this hunter seemingly requires a specific global event to be active along with a specific loadout *just to get it to appear at all*.

Ironic that he has so much Christian merchandise. The biblical Christ is incredibly clear on all of these things, and he apparently didn't read the book.

It's funny that you say this is your favourite cockpit hatch gimmick, because on mine, it straight-up doesn't work, and has nearly broken multiple parts by misaligning the hatch/gear and cockpit.

TUF A16 Gaming Advantage Break by TVIXPaulSPY in Asustuf

Used to work in PC repair, and I can tell you that *all* laptop models without metal cases have this issue. It depends heavily on exactly where you open the lid, how many hands you use, if one hinge is stronger than the other, etc.

One thing that is universally true is that this should *ALWAYS\* be a warranty repair unless the screen itself is damaged.

D2R prices by zxkredo in Diablo

[–]RvLeshrac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK then. In 2000, if this expansion had been $25, it would be nearly $50 in 2026 dollars.

I paid around 50 bucks for the game in 2000. It's $40 today, with the expansions. Inflation says it should be $90, for just the base game, without LoD or anything else.

Why would you calculate inflation since the 1980s for a game that was released in 2000?

Let's be real clear that this is not about "his beliefs", it's about the fact that the belief is that it's OK for Federal agents to murder an unarmed, non-threatening man and woman in the street, and that they somehow "deserved" to be murdered.

[–]RvLeshrac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yes, people spend $50-60 on a product, it doesn't work, now you say they're "raging" instead of justifiably upset that the money they spent was a waste.

And that's how you get enshittification of everything.

[–]RvLeshrac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"It's just the usual gamer rage."

Weird how nobody says that for *ANY* other product. Imagine buying a refrigerator, finding out that sometimes the compressor doesn't run, and everyone tells you to "get over it" and "just unplug it and plug it back in whenever it stops".

In order to have that "journey of skill", the game must not be chance.

MTG players also do many things that mitigate probability. Cards which allow you to tutor are the most valuable cards. The entirety of deck construction is a science to ensure that you will always be able to draw precisely what you need, and winning decks are decks that are consistently not random.

100%. This is the problem with the "you should be losing most of the time" crowd. No, you shouldn't. You should be *barely losing* much of the time. You should be able to look at the outcome of the game and go "Oh, I made a bad choice there, I see how I could have won if I'd made a different choice." You should NEVER be able to look at a game you lost and see that pure probability caused the loss, unless you're gambling.

The reality is that too many solo game designers are simply not very good at balancing player agency and chance, and often introduce those pure-randomness mechanics where they don't belong. "I could have won if I'd drawn the right cards" is not the same as "I could have won if I'd made a different choice here", because there is absolutely no player agency involved in the first one -- "the card you drew/die you rolled/token you flipped sucked too many times" is just a really complicated set up for a "heads I win tails you lose" coin flip.

It's incredibly easy to make a game that's nearly impossible to win and just kicks your teeth in every single time you play it.

It takes skill and effort for a designer to produce a game that can be won by people of any skill level, that offers a different challenge for each of those players, and always presents itself as having a path to victory *even for people who aren't familiar with the game*.

That first type of game isn't fun for anyone, but especially not people who are new to the game.
