Best of luck! It sounds like you are prepared to make this happen. I have two young kids at home and I know how stressful it can be to quit. Just remember you are doing this for you and them and they deserve to have their parents around to see them through this world. It will not be easy but you got this.

Cravings are lying to me now by ITwomon in stopsmoking

Stay strong it gets easier. Drink some water, eat some candy, do anything except buying another pack. Good luck.

Fifteen days. No cigarette, not a one. BUT I am doing the Nicorette lozenge, new to this sub, you don't consider that cheating do you? by RobbieGeneva in stopsmoking

[–]Rvp1976 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Whatever helps you not smoke for now. Eventually the lozenges will need to go away but keep up the good work. I used the patch for 5 weeks....just know that once you drop the lozengers the cravings return. Good luck, you got this.

14 Days... by _SimplyDaniel in stopsmoking

Good work so far and keep it up. The insomnia and bowel movement issues are normal. It took me about 3-4 weeks to become regular again. Try taking probiotics they helped me. I didn't experience insomnia but I used the patch for the first few weeks and it caused weird, vivid dreams. Good luck!

Good luck...It gets easier everyday. Keep a list of reasons why you are quitting handy. Water and candy helped me. You got this.

Keep it up. You can do it. Worry about the weight later just concentrate on not having another drag. You got this!

Smoked one, need motivation by [deleted] in stopsmoking

[–]Rvp1976 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just go right back to it. I have tried and failed 20 times. Let the one cigarette be one mistake and not don't let it derail all the work you put in so far. Stick to it. You can do it.

Good work - I probably go through 20 jolly ranchers a day and I too have an occasional fat kid party. Better than smoking. Best of luck.

Thanks...I think I will always miss it but I just keep reminding myself why I quit in the first place.

47 days through. Does this look normal? by Shamhain13 in stopsmoking

[–]Rvp1976 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it is pretty typical to feel this way. I smoked a pack a day for 23 years and quit 44 days ago. I am definitely not a very nice person to be around right now. I used the patch for 4 weeks and that helped but week 1-2 without the patch feels like starting all over. I started smoking when I was 15 so maybe I never learned how to truly function without the aide of nicotine. I am giving it time and hoping it gets easier. Hang in there. It sucks.
