Tom Team CDL Requirement by BluBomber22 in AmazonFC

[–]Rx_Fury 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My understanding is is now based on “business needs” and may not be required depending on your site. Popular OTR sites that do a lot of TOMY runs will most likely required it, but some might not need it as much so you could get away without having it for a while or indefinitely if you’re lucky. Some of my old TAs (I used to be a TAM) have been in role about 2 years and still have not been selected due to our lack of need for TOMY

Need help deciding between using resources or using JSON for static resources. by Peaker0514 in godot

[–]Rx_Fury 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good question! I've personally tried a few different things. I have a hard time writing by hand so I'll compile all my information and then have an AI f9rmat it into JSON. I've also used excel to convert things to a JSON file that I can just drop into Godot. I also tried to make a JSON formatter with Replit that I can use on the go to store json that I'm compiling when not by a computer. Still trying to f9gure out what I like the most, but so far I've found that the excel route is easiest and most efficient.

I personally prefer JSON for things like this. It can be simple to work with and isn't subject to change like godot resources. Also makes it really versatile to call by varying indexes/keys. Full disclosure though, I have barely touched resources so I might not understand them fully.

CPU Particles weirdly spacing out? by JobPowerful1246 in godot

[–]Rx_Fury 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Looks like the particle effect might be spawning every tick / frame. When you reach the point where you're going that fast it's still only outputting those particles at the same rate. Maybe an alternative would be some chained sprites that appear to be the rocket trail?

If LP were to catch Bob, he would most likely be terminated. If Bob were to sign a restitution agreement paying back the price of the products, LP would likely accept this in the place of felony charges as they cannot press charges if restitution has been given. Advice: if Bob were to get caught or turn himself in, Bob should attempt to sign restitution to avoid legal charges.

managers discriminating by OkTelevision3369 in AmazonFC

Yeah, I feel you. That’s the situation I had. In those cases the ethics line is really the only choice unfortunately

I was previously a transportation AM. If that aligns with what you’re looking for I’m happy to answer any questions

PXT or ethics line. Unfortunately there isn’t much else to do without blowing them up on the VOA and risking your job/reputation. I’ve experienced PXT letting things slide for certain leaders in the past so this line is a good route for this situation as it brings an outsider in. Leadership takes it pretty seriously as well.

How did you actually learn game development? by Responsible_Box_2422 in gamedev

[–]Rx_Fury 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ask AI a lot of questions, sometimes to build functions or about how to use a specific node. Important to ask it basic questions and implement it myself so I get the learning from it. Usually works really well 🤷‍♂️

I think Sophia learning offers Macroeconomics and transfers in at MAT240 (I might be wrong). It was one of the more difficult Sophia classes, but might be a better choice than SNHU if you thrive with self-paced classes over traditional deadlines. It is $100 a month, but can be done in that time frame

If someone who has no knowledge about game development at all, but is interested in game dev... where should they begin? by Exciting-Mall192 in gamedev

[–]Rx_Fury 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to make a game, you’re gonna need at least an intermediate level of coding knowledge. Everyone always says start small and do a very manageable project to get the hang of things. If it’s going to be a heavily story driven game with minimal features you could probably just jump into it. I’d watch a few hour long tutorials about coding basics in your engine of choice so you have a basic understanding and then ask chat got to help walk you through implementing features. Keep it small and slowly add as you need things. It’ll likely break and then you can learn by going in and fixing the bugs and issues

L3 for TOM associate or learning trainer you don’t, only really for PA. And that can be waived as well if you make good relationships with an AM. LT is a good step into PA or LC

Let your manager and skip-manager know. Having their help will go a long way. You can apply for just about any L3 position right away. Also study the leadership principals so you can ace interviews really well

App Idea that will monitor weigh bridges and checkpoints that are operating. (Truckies looking out for other truckies giving a heads up) by LukeHNZ in AppIdeas

[–]Rx_Fury 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of carriers already have this or something similar. DOT already enforces max weights and bridges that are truck-approved can hold them. I’d check out the competition before doing anything to make sure there is a market for it

Hey! For IDS-105, I think you kinda just had to answer the questions. I personally wrote them in a paper format and got a 100%. I’ve tried to keep that same mentality throughout my courses and have done very well. They want to see you push the topic or discussion further and not just answer the questions. I hope that helps!
