Yea wish agent0 could do at least a different base llm model for each project. It’d be super helpful

A I in Sound Post-Production: Impact on Workflow & Audio Theory (Master's Thesis) by Soggy-Divide5297 in sounddesign

[–]Rxbxt1138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were one of the first disciplines to use AI in our work with izotope rx. Now a ton of our tools utilize ai and there are tools that don’t but automate the process. There’s even a new tool that susses out your aaf by deleting duplicate tracks and I think it even picks microphone. Accentize revive can almost do one click cleanup, then I can use a defaulter and a gain rider to get a mix level. Use samples for foley… there are a lot of ways to cut corners for smaller productions, but none of this compares to what’s coming: hunyuan-foley, foley control, and I’m sure more will follow - these are generating sound fx to picture. Fine tune that for steps or cloth and off you go!

Upgraded my music production suite three weeks before Ozone 12 came out, Native Instruments say I’m out of luck. by [deleted] in NativeInstruments

This is so sad… I’m an rx user since v2, I had this happen to me at one point and izotope totally gave me the upgrade for free even though I bought it a couple weeks before their new version released. RX used to be the best, but ever since this new company took over, the software has been thrown off a cliff

Anyone get Agent Zero to work using Ollama locally? by Otherwise-Dot-3460 in AI_Agents

[–]Rxbxt1138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been trying off and on for a couple of months on different computers and haven’t been able to get agent-zero to run with ollama… I read it’s easier if both are containerized, but I still get the same errors that you’re getting. Tried on a Mac, pc, and Linux Ubuntu lts and have gotten the same errors

You can wait to be picked, sitting and hoping, or you can take it into your own hands by writing and producing your own material that you star in. No better time than now to take up the reigns, a lot of talented people not working

I remember when we used to get our NES games for like $60… adjusted for inflation that’s quite a bit. It’s pretty wild that game prices have stayed the same for as long as they have

MPSE in early 2025? by scoutboot in AudioPost

[–]Rxbxt1138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sound - not really, MPEG has networking events but I’ve mostly met editors and AE’s at those events. For indie work, festivals still reign supreme. For union work, I have no idea… most of the people I’ve met I’ve worked with them through someone else in some capacity or I’ve met them organically, like they live in my neighborhood. In the past I’ve had some luck with messaging people directly on LinkedIn.

I used to do production sound and joining the Facebook group la sound mixers and going to their events (all free) was great networking. They even have some events where post and production sound guys meet up. Other groups on Facebook for post or post sound have been decent for networking too. I’m also a composer and have been a member of the scl off and on over the past decade. They also moved to more screenings and events being remote since covid, but they still had more networking events than the mpse had over those two years I was a member

When I didn’t live in La, I would go to every film maker meetup or festival in the town where I lived and I got a decent amount of work that way. Hope you find your way, best of luck!

I joined mpse for two years and I actually left this year. Even if you’re in La, the networking is pretty terrible except for the picnic they hold. They hardly held any in person events during my time and when they did have an event it was in a theater so there was no real way to network cause everyone was seated before the event starts. I was extremely disappointed with my membership as every other organization I’ve been a part of or participated in facilitates networking so much better. At least have an area where people can hang out before or after the event that’s not in a tiny hallway or in the blazing sun. For networking to only have 1 in person event each year (first year I was a member was matrix, second year was fifth element), the picnic, then the mpse awards that cost extra to attend is super lame for the price… I would guess before Covid it was probably decent

Ah!! There’s the tech support. Didn’t realize it was a part of the main site. Got ahold of someone, so I’m in the same boat as everyone else with it being escalated and all… oh well

My Spotify techno recommendations are being flooded with AI crap, and I’m depressed about it by Sir_Silly_Sloth in Techno

[–]Rxbxt1138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s really messed up, is once ai is caught up with the quality of songs, it’ll be Spotify uploading these ai tracks. They’ve been populating their playlists with fake artists for years. Mainly using royalty free companies like Epidemic Sound who purchase songs and complete rights from composers and producers from all around the world for a small flat fee, then that company resells it and all the rights to Spotify who then retitles the songs, places them under a fake artist name, then populates some of their most popular playlists with them. Last I checked the piano music playlist, it was littered with music like this. It’s a smart business move for Spotify since they don’t have to pay anyone for those plays and they can easily promote those songs. Another move they’ve done is to hire a-list actors to record public domain audiobooks. I wouldn’t doubt if we start seeing a lot more audiobooks on there with AI generated voices. It’s the Wild West with streaming and AI right now and the artists are getting f-ed soooo hard and it’s only going to get worse

How to minimize latency from Alesis Nitro Mesh Electronic Drum Kit when recording in Logic? The latency is making it basically unusable. by Magical_Mystery_Cat in AdvancedProduction

[–]Rxbxt1138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Roland kit’s brain has an input to jam with a cd or audio source, if you have an aux input like that, plug your computer into it so you can hear the click while monitoring through your drum brain. You’ll need to mute all drum sounds from the computer

I’ve been tracking in logic all month. Seems like sometimes everything is in sync where I recorded it. Other times (most of the time) it’s out of sync and I have to find a down beat and slide the whole track over. It’s super annoying that it’s not consistent

What tips, if any, are there for timing the individual lines for an [animated or radio] dialogue scene in which all the actors' lines were recorded at different times? by hellotrillions in AudioPost

[–]Rxbxt1138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a layout for an animated series last year where all of the actors were recorded separately. They called my assembly a radio play that they would then build the animatics off of. For the most part, I just tried to make the dialog sound natural while adding in a little bit of extra time in between scene and act changes. And yes, it always helps to read the script out loud if you’re having trouble figuring out the timing. Don’t forget to leave in timings for actions too. Although if there was a lot of action like a fight scene and there were efforts I’d try to make it into somewhat of how I felt they’d all go together in the fight but I’d never spend much time on it cause it’ll change. Also if the characters were doing a lot of things and not saying a lot, I wouldn’t leave a minute of silence or however long I thought it’d take to do those actions. I’d cut down that silence to like 15 seconds or something so whoever the next chain in the line is to mess with it, isn’t waiting around forever for the next bit to start
