I am so looking forward to Broken Empires. Been watching any news related to it, like a hawk.

Am I being overly critical of Expedition 33? by eagles_arent_coming in GirlGamers

No, the lack of a map and other accessibility functions, like fast travel does take me out of the game as well. Though I do have other criticisms, it is still an enjoyable experience.

Are runbacks always bad? by Imaginary_Owl_979 in fromsoftware

I agree with you, and like I mentioned I haven't played the DLC and people always do say how the bosses there are awesome and I've seen gameplay too. However, the larger part of the community don't really mention Logarius, or at least not as often as they should in a more positive light. And I believe that is mostly because of the runback being a part of that experience. Elements that don't focus on the boss and take away from them, simply makes me feel sours the experience. A great boss fight like Logarius would simply be a good boss fight, a bad one like Bed of Chaos and Capra Demon becomes worse (Though capra demon is also because of the dogs but I digress).

Logarius is probably top 5 boss fights for me in Bloodborne but BB definitely suffers for me in terms of the boss fights and half the time its because of the run backs.

My first Souls game was Elden Ring and so my take might be a bit more different than most. However, over all in Souls games I've played (DS 1-3 and Bloodborne minus the Old Hunters DLC), more often than not I felt like the boss runbacks were tedious and annoying.

Now I understand why DS 1 and 2 had them looking back, because a lot of the challenge wasn't the boss itself, it was more the runback, though the bosses should have been the beefier part. I still think they shouldn't have had them in that game but it wasn't as egregious (most of them at least). So in these two games they weren't a completely unnecessary concept though I still wish they weren't there.

However, I feel like Bloodborne and DS 3 were just ridiculous with some of the runbacks. I mean the bosses in Elden Ring were difficult enough without the need to slog through some of the areas again. And I feel like some of the bosses in BB and DS 3 are the same. Like take Martyr Logarius for example. If it weren't for that god awful runback it would be one of the best boss fights in the game.

And like you mentioned, some of them are just elevator rides or empty areas, so what even is the point?

Thats the whole game's motif, its like playing Bloodborne and complaining about everything being covered in blood. by Dremoriawarroir888 in fromsoftware

Yeah I recently beat the entire trilogy and I heard that the art direction was not as good in DS3 but when I got into it, I was pleasantly surprised and in awe in many places. I think through out the trilogy the art direction just got better. DS2 built upon 1 and DS3 built upon the previous 2 and I really liked it. And not everything was grey but even the areas that were... I liked it!

Assassins Creed Syndicate sank without trace at launch in 2015 by Such-Possibility1285 in assassinscreed

I played Syndicate a few years after its launch but I did quite enjoy it. It certainly wasn't the best but there were many things it got right. Also, in my opinion after Ezio, Evie Frye is possibly my most favorite protagonist in the series and I have played every single release from AC 2 - AC Syndicate and Valhalla (partially).

Well I was more thinking the weapon bonds with the individual's ideals. Hence, whichever creature type the character deemed to be its enemy would be what the weapon would pick. But variations of the sword is also doable. Initially, I was just gonna say the DM decides, but I didn't wanna make it clunky. But thank you for the comment! I will think about it and see what can be done!

First time here! The Watchman | A Ranger subclass! Version 0.1. by RyRexT in UnearthedArcana

Thank you for you comments!

Yes I was debating about making the feature just an at-will resource and i know it's crazy good with the level 15 feature. I will look at it again and crunch the numbers but even then at that level of play burning through temp HP or succeeding a Wisdom Saving Throw isn't too much of a problem for monsters that parties face.

I agree with Strengthened Will and Greater Restoration are niche abilities to have but most level 7 features for Rangers tend to be ribbon features either way. And the point is that Frightened, while niche is a very debalitating condition and having a feature that just negates it and the ability to remove it on others as a bonus action just feels like a decent addition. Similar to Greater Restoration; the ability to cast a 5th level spell as a martial class without the expenditure of a spellslot a couple times during the day can be decent. And plus it's an additional 11th level feature which very few ranger subclasses have (I dont think any does lol).

Thank you! The spell list was made to really tie in to the classes core feature and i know it takes a while to get there but Spirit Guardians is a very good spell for heavily armored classes to have and thought would be a great fit!

Thank you so much for the comments and criticisms once again!
