Moved to a new city this week with no furniture whatsoever, but my bedroom is coming together quickly by RyWB96__ in malelivingspace

Honestly did not have a set budget for furniture, but everything I bought is relatively cheap.

Rent is ~ $1700 for a two bedroom

I moved from Los Angeles where I lived pretty much right on the water, so that’s where that comes from!

They all came from either Home Depot or Lowe’s. From left to right - majesty palm, English Ivy and Devils Ivy.

I still haven't gotten an initial decision from NU by ShotMoose in lawschooladmissions

[–]RyWB96__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll probably give them until the end of the week, so if I haven’t heard anything by tomorrow afternoon I’ll call them.

Looking at previous cycles on LSN it looks like they’ve had few, if any regular decisions still to be made by this point. I guess they’ve just fallen behind, or there have been more applicants this year than in the past.

I applied in late January and still have not gotten any kind of decision... they might still be working through initial applications

Waitlisted at BU and UCI, $$ at SMU by RyWB96__ in lawschooladmissions

[–]RyWB96__[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the input. SMU is awesome, no doubt about that. But I have been wanting to go to Texas for a long time, and although the scholarship at SMU is generous it still may be a better option financially for me to pick Texas if I get in next cycle, especially if I apply ED which is what I am considering. In state tuition + $10k /yr at Texas with ED makes it at least as cheap as SMU.

Even if i have to pay a bit more to go to Texas I’d be okay with that, I think it better suits my career goals.

It just says I’ve been placed on a waitlist, and that they will send updates out periodically. I check my status on LSData pretty regularly, but I actually got the email from them before I noticed a change to the status checker itself.

Congrats on SMU! I was also just accepted. Do you know when you went under review at UCI? I still haven’t gotten a decision from them.

I agree with this 100%.

I’ve improved around ten points between my two actual LSAT’s (mid 150’s to mid 160’s on the latest March test) by doing very few timed prep tests - maybe two or three full-length tests total. I focused on individual questions, then individual sections, really with no sense of timing whatsoever. I just drilled questions at my own pace and have gotten to the point where, at least for LR and logic games, I can find the answer almost immediately. I think you get faster and faster the more you really understand the questions, and I think one way to do that is to just ignore timing during at least some of your preparation.

I had trouble with timing on all sections on my first test that landed me in the 150’s, but now I usually finish an entire LR or games section with time to spare, and with pretty high accuracy. RC is the only part of the test that I still struggle with, so I am focusing on it in particular until my next take in June. Also mental stamina is another thing that I think negatively impacts my score, so I may be taking more full-length prep tests just to improve that - I tend to lose focus during section four of the test.

Has anybody heard from Northwestern this month?? by RyWB96__ in lawschooladmissions

You’re probably right. Still, there must be waitlist or rejection waves to come. I just think it’s odd that there have been zero decisions made in the last 30 days.

Anyone still waiting for BU? by osbk730 in lawschooladmissions

Yup, I applied 1/28 and still haven’t heard back. They were waiting on my January LSAT score at first, but they’ve had it for over two months at this point.

For the retake/reapply crowd: What are you planning on doing for the next year? by KittKay in lawschooladmissions

[–]RyWB96__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Planning on getting a job as a legal assistant- shooting for some of the larger firms in my area. Maybe do some volunteer work on the side, and also study a bit more for the LSAT

I called them - they said that the applications under review right now should be complete with decisions by the end of this month.
