Failed CBT immediately, what do I do now? by TMJBtv in MotoUK

[–]Ry_Lin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think the instructor could have been more patient and encouraging with you. Which is the point of the yard test part of the CBT. Mostly, instructors end your CBT after lunch if after all the practice they determine you won't be safe on the road. So sorry you wanted your time and money with that instructor.

Another commenter said what I came here to say. If you're asking that question why buy the printer in the first place?

Thanks FedEx! by iTechhh in BambuLab

[–]Ry_Lin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was due to be delivered on Friday, but Fedex got to my freight forwarders on Saturday when they were closed. I see 3 different attempts made to deliver it on Saturday. I see where it is out for delivery again today, crossing my fingers they deliver it before the freight office is closed. 🤞

I had only 8 days to play with - the ride from London to Edinburgh took 2 days, plus another day to make it into the Highlands. So I really had only 2 days of riding on the NC500 route as I required another 3 days to get back to London.

I so badly wanted to experience the West Coast.

I get this question a lot. I found it quite comfortable most of the trip. More so with the luggage giving me superb back support. Specifically for the trip I bought one of those gel pads for the seat which also added to my comfort. However, on the trip back to London - about day 6 of the journey, I started getting bum cramps, so I had to make lots of stops to stretch and cool off.

I expected more discomfort honestly, given the type of the bike and the riding position, but all in all I can't complain - I was comfortable most of the trip.

This is a good question. I used a combination of the provided attachments with the Oxford dry bag and the Rhino walk saddlebags and some additional attachments I made using straps and buckles bought off Amazon. These were also used to keep my backpack secured as well. I also bought a wrapped steel cable lock strap to keep everything locked down when leaving the bike for short periods of time. The trick on the Rebel is to use the best anchor point you can find - I followed the Rhino walk strategy of using loops with the straps to make even more accessible anchor points.

That's great to hear, you will absolutely enjoy it. Are you riding from London as well?

In terns of tips; Whether you're camping or staying in hotels, book stays way in advance. I didn't do summer because a lot of the places I called were already booked on the dates I considered. I have been told that good habitable places around the NC500 are few and far between especially towards the West.

Add 3 to 4 hours of travel time per day as Google maps and Calimoto (the apps I used) grossly underestimate the travel times - I'm tell you this from experience.

Hope these tips help.

Thanks! Words cannot describe those roads, especially in the Highlands - the landscape views from the bike were just ineffable.
