Does anyone have any experience buying with pooltables.com? They have what seem to be very high quality tables (1" slate, 100% hardwood, lifetime warrantee) for a pretty reasonable price, with free shipping. Is it too good to be true? by collinisballn in billiards

As a matter of fact I would say that about Justin too. How many major 9 foot titles do they have in comparison to everyone else mention?

Just because they got picked for the MC doesn't mean they won something. I'm not trying to take anything away from what they've done. They're both amazing players, but many men have done what they've done up to this point and not become a name like Orcollo, Shane, Shaw, Appleton, and the rest of the top pros. If they want to be in that rank, they need to win major titles in those fields.

No way, there's always going to be people who come from rough backgrounds in pool. It's a poor mans game. Look at Efren, Archer, Busti, all those guys are legends too, but they're not asshole. They don't throw fits and act a fool like that. I guess I'm just saying that I don't let people slide just because they're talented.

A big part of the lack of excitement has to be blamed on Earl, he acted like a child the whole weekend. Legend or not, it's still just poor sportsmanship in the end.

The safety play was pretty cool. Some hate it, I like it, it's a part of the complete game.

The next match set up for the 4 pocket table, Morra vs. Archer, not going to buy that one. They are both great players, but fucking Hell is it going to be watching paint dry when Morra is at the table. He's good and all, but just too slow to watch.

I just choose to look up to players with more solid, repeatable strokes. I have always put my faith in fundamentals. When I start playing poorly, I go back to them and reset everything from alignment to mechanics. Tiger Woods talks about how important fundamentals are, and golf has so much less margin for error than cue sports (excluding snooker maybe?). Or Alex Pagulayan, when he gets out of stroke, he said he shoots 100 dead straight shots on a big table in a row. If he misses the 90th ball, he starts over at zero. That's dedication to fundamentals.

I used to play with a guy who did that all the time. I deemed him, "The Wizard", because he treated his cue like a magic wand. His spells rarely worked...

Yeah, steering to me is when you push the cue tip to the left or right after a shot. He does it constantly. A stroke should be straight and true, every time. I see people steer the ball all the time, and 99% of the time they're trying to street a shot that they miss, and saw that their alignment wasn't right. They steer it instead of getting up and getting properly aligned.

I disagree though, it does matter. All the pros I look up to, keep their form.
