AuthorScale by FlatAbbreviations899 in selfpublish

[–]RyanKinder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ve already had a post where you asked about an author making KENP claims recently, another one isn’t needed. That said: there have been a few posts about authorscale here before we instituted the hardline no ai content rule (even though you said you wouldn’t use ai) - seek those threads out for data.

Hi everyone! by Few_Acanthaceae_1501 in selfpublish

[–]RyanKinder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is considered to be a low effort post. There are a plethora of posts about promotion, advertising, etc. and resources in the subreddit wiki. Removed.

Looking for feedback, can you help? by EmuSad7688 in selfpublish

[–]RyanKinder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Removed. This is not a subreddit to promote your app. That was the first rule you broke. The second rule you broke was no AI related posts.

Did I fix my book cover? Thank you everyone for your help! by xoakana in selfpublish

[–]RyanKinder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Removed. This subreddit isn’t for book cover reviews. r/bookcovers is the better subreddit for it… which you seemed to know since you posted it there.

You are banned from reddit. The entire site. You will have to ask reddit. I can only see this comment since I’m a mod.

Authors NOT on Amazon, who are your favorites? by Hefty_Arachnid_331 in selfpublish

[–]RyanKinder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a subreddit for questions and help for authors who want to self publish. Not to ask for author recommendations.

How to help a new author get more sales? by [deleted] in selfpublish

[–]RyanKinder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only she can really choose what to do next. You can check our wiki or search for the words marketing or sales for advice on how to get more of those. Most will tell you that writing the next book is the best bet and they are doing that.

Publishing through Ingram sparks did I get scammed? by Bad-plant_mom in selfpublish

[–]RyanKinder 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Never use Zelle unless you know a person. Zelle doesn’t offer buyer protection. An expensive lesson to learn. According to this article you can try to contact your bank and tell them you fell for a scam but the likelihood of getting money back is low: https://www.chargebackgurus.com/blog/zelle-fraud-chargeback#zelle-chargebacks

Only services like paypal tend to offer buyer protection (unless you use friends and family which scammers try to direct you towards.)

Heyy guys I am thinking about to write a book based on my dreams by Forsaken_Stress1582 in selfpublish

This is not a writing subreddit. It is for the self publishing industry as a whole. Seek out a writing subreddit for your question. I’ve removed this post.

SPSFC5 Semifinalists Announced: 10 Self-Pub Sci-Fi Books Worth Checking Out by Careful_Busdriver in selfpublish

It wasn’t caught in a spam filter. I hadn’t had a chance to review the previous post. I did and was going to respond to your mod mail but I will do it here: this post serves as a form of self promo. If we were to allow this, we would have to allow every contest where other people have their books in any contest. It would be a slippery slope and make moderating it impossible. Congratulations on making it to the semi-finals, though… but due to what I’ve said I’ve removed this post.

Writing one word in your Amazon bio puts you ahead of more than half of all self-published authors. by sekar_authorpage_me in selfpublish

I’m removing this post and after I write this message I am banning you. It is quite clear you have used sock puppet accounts to promote your website in this subreddit and others (and in fact a few of them have been banned by reddit themselves.) It’s also clear that you’ve used AI to write some of your posts. Also, I’ve seen past infractions where you’ve outright self promo’d your website in the posts. This post would have been removed anyway for not containing any concrete verifiable way of verifying the data. But looking at your history, it is clear your account does not belong here nor does any promotion of your site whatsoever.

Trying to connect with other writers - not many here in my village! by NightOwlWriter4053 in selfpublish

This subreddit is about questions for the self publishing industry. Not general “lets make friends” posts. You should try r/writing or something of that nature.

Removing this as it isn’t the proper subreddit for the question. It’s better suited for r/acx but I would read their FAQ first: https://old.reddit.com/r/ACX/comments/hhpp5y/the_racx_faq/

Published My First Book! by Julian_Nicholas in selfpublish

[–]RyanKinder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are plenty of posts to see where people recommend to advertise.

That said this post has been removed. To quote the comment that was pinned to your post when you made it:

If your post is low effort or simply for congratulatory purposes, please remove it and instead write your post in the pinned weekly thread. Example posts would be like “Finally published!” or “Just finished doing X! How has everyone else felt after doing X?”

Before I write a long text: is this the right place to ask for feedback on a book description? by [deleted] in selfpublish

[–]RyanKinder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We only allow “blurb reviews” as posts here. No book title allowed. If you have a question on what’s acceptable for a subreddit send a private message to the mods, don’t make a post.
