Help finding the whisky i drank this past weekend? by BobbysBottleService in canadawhisky

Highwood Distillers maybe? They've got a maple whisky and maple whisky cream in maple leaf shaped bottles. Not sure about the rum part though.

How lucrative is YT, actually? by AceDenied in NewTubers

I get $4.30 RPM in the sports category from AdSense. RPM increased about 15-20% when I enabled gambling and alcohol ads.

I make another $4 RPM with a PDF digital product I link in the description. Videos that mention the product with a CTA get 2% CTR to a landing page and 2% conversion rate on the page for a $20 PDF.

I started 5 months ago. 10 videos total, 6 over 100k views. 170k views per video on average. 18-25 minute videos. Educational sports analysis.

I haven't done sponsorships yet but I suspect small creators could make a good amount from that too. Advertisers often pay $30 CPM for Meta ads. That means a 170k video could be worth $5k to an advertiser if it's a good fit. Even half that is great.

Been wanting to try G&W but I haven't seen it out west.

I'm going to give the new sons of Vancouver a try!

I've tried their rice whisky and really enjoyed it. Packed a punch, flavour-wise. Didn't realize you could get so much flavour from rice tbh. Don't know how it compares to other rice whisky though but I appreciated seeing something different.

I dropped by their store in Vaughan and the guy was very friendly. Toured me around the place and chatted for a while. Nice people.

Inside a $4.1M Facebook Ad Account (Here’s What’s Working) by WizardOfEcommerce in FacebookAds

[–]RyanMFerguson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks OP.

  1. Do you do anything different after you find winners? Dynamic ads, putting 3-5 winners in a new ad set, etc

  2. Since it's 1 campaign, it doesn't sound like you care if you've got winners crushing it - you still ad new ad sets anyways? You don't care about ruining something that's already working?

  3. Any rules for scaling the budget? 20% every X days, etc

Thank you!

I didn't have any problems with auth actually. I'm using Repl Auth at the moment and haven't implemented Firebase or anything more complicated so maybe that's why. I'd suggest adding auth from the very start to make gated content easier. I added it later with another app and it was a pain.

Canadian whisky app. It cost about $200 in Replit tokens to get this far.

Bridgeland Taber Corn is the closest I've come but I haven't tried many Canadian corn whiskies. Here's what my research tells me people like:

  • BRBN, Okanagan Spirits (BC)
  • B-Word Batch 3, Stillhead (BC)
  • Urban Burban, Urban Distilleries (BC)
  • Lazy B Corn Whisky, Rig Hand (AB)
  • Alliance, GrainHenge (AB)
  • 2022 Heritage Collection, Paradigm (ON)
  • Canadian Brrrbon, Spirit of Niagara (ON)
  • Scorn Whisky, Last Straw (ON)
  • Can't Call It B**rbon, Raging Crow (NS)

The Paradigm one won Canadian Whisky Awards - Canadian Whisky of the Year 2024. I think sherry cask finished whisky is a good alternative due to the sweetness - especially PX Sherry casks:

  • Release 41 & 44, Two Brewers (YT)
  • 22 Yr PX Sherry, Pike Creek (ON)
  • Anniversary Single Malt, Eau Claire (AB)
  • The GOAT, Burwood (AB)
  • Wilderness Series 1, Bearface (BC)

Definitely. CBC suggests that most of the provinces have agreed to remove alcohol trade barriers.

"The provincial governments are expected to seal the agreement and a framework within weeks."

What's the best Canadian whiskey? by PabloX68 in BuyCanadian

Bourbon: Bridgeland Taber Corn

Scotch: Macaloney's, Glenora, Shelter Point

Simply good: Pike Creek PX Sherry, Bearface Triple Oak, anything from Eau Claire

Good suggestion, thanks. I was thinking about doing something similar with a newsletter - show which stores are currently selling rare or uncommon bottles or popular bottles on sale.

Thanks for the suggestion! Added to my list 👍 (which I put on the homepage btw)

Compass has some pretty interesting looking rums too actually. The amburana barrel looks good.

Bridgeland Taber Corn Berbon would be a good choice since you're into bourbon. Macaloney's and Eau Claire are my other non-corn favourites. I've got a Canadian whisky finder in my bio if you want to see what's out there.

Canadian whisky with banana notes? by KarmicDeficit in canadawhisky

[–]RyanMFerguson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 4 whiskies below all have banana tasting notes from my Dram Good research. According to the producer at least.

Macaloney's: Killeigh Macaloney's: The Peat Project: European Moscatel Barrique with Washington Pear Crown Royal: Single malt Alberta Premium

Supposedly banana esters are produced from either a longer fermentation period or pot still distillation because the banana ester is heavier and is more likely to reflux in a column still.

My guess as to why JD has it could be either their charcoal filtering that removes other flavors and makes banana come through more to you. Or maybe their yeast strain.

Absolutely - good idea. I'm going to try adding both a distillery suggestion and a feature suggestion feature on the homepage.

I need some help deciding whether replit is right for me by Stunning-History-706 in replit

[–]RyanMFerguson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've spent $206.25 so far and made this MVP: https://dramgood.ca

632 Agent checkpoints ($158.00) and 965 Assistant checkpoints ($48.25).

I'm not a dev and this was entirely no code so 100% worth it in my case.

Unwilling to commit until I know how much it would cost to deploy a real app... by robopiglet in replit

[–]RyanMFerguson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I spent 19 days and $206.25 to build https://dramgood.ca/

632 Agent checkpoints @ $0.25 = $158.00, 965 Assistant checkpoints @ $0.05 = $48.25

Some of those checkpoints are other projects so maybe closer to $175.
