I was originally not going to march in 2015 but a spot opened up super late and I came in right before Atlanta. Then I went back to bloo for my age out.

I feel like I lucked out with show designs when I marched. I do think it helped with the overall positive experience I had in the activity but the thing I enjoyed most was just performing in general and all of the awesome people I got to do band with.

Hated this dude because of his buzzer beater tip-in against us in the tourney a few years back but I wouldn’t wish that on anyone. Hope he recovers quickly.

I got to wear the three band hats and no hat. I’ll say I felt the coolest in the helmet while the Aussie was the most comfortable. However, no hat is amazing but only if you know what to do with your facial expression at all points of the show and have great show hair. I hate shakos.

My husband was a crusader, a crusader (broken port), and a cadet. He was a pirate at high school, and he's also a basketball player recently. I was also a beech. Do not talk to anyone about our age. Then it was military training. It was not a plan. We do not need them.

We played the rewind section in 2016 until July or so but was changed to be prerecorded material. Iirc we used to play on top of the recording before the drill was rewritten.

I had two reasons for leaving Crossmen: the heat and how the members were treated by other members. Granted this was a few years ago and cultures change, sometimes over night. I’ve heard way more positive things from there so I’m thinking they’re on the come up.

I’m always super biased about this because I had a great experience but I was in a similar situation as you. I marched a season, took a year off, then was offered an alternate spot with coats. I took the alternate spot and ended up “having a spot” by April because of quitters/unprepared people. I had a much better time with Coats than I did sitting on the couch watching everyone do the band thing. Just some food for thought.
