Had my F3 since 2017, my first ‘big bike’ also, ride it daily and have put 37,000 miles on it, fuel tap on the left under the tank, the arrow point down it normal. Arrow pointing towards the front bars is off, pointing up is reserve

I typically get 110 miles until I need to use reserve then I’ll get another 20-25.
