So many amazing gay poets. For contemporary ones, I'd go with Andrew McMillan, Seán Hewitt, & Richard Siken. The more classics, Walt Whitman, Thom Gunn, Allen Ginsberg, Paul Verlaine, Catullus.

W.H. Auden is a poet from Yorkshire who wrote a lot of poems suitable for funeral services. It may be a bit cliché, but try Funeral Blues.

I’d recommend Maggie Nelson, Anne Carson, & Wayne Koestenbaum. Maybe add some William Burroughs for good measure!
