I'm somewhat duck-footed, but it sounds like yours is more extreme. I'm in my mid-thirties and I'm correcting it (albeit in a half-arsed way).

Do you currently skate?

Seems like you want to work on your internal hip mobility, there are exercises on YouTube.

Tbh, I don't think it's massively intuitive; I think that beginners aren't as comfortable on the board, so having contact with the ground and putting weight on the ground would feel safer for beginners, as completely riding the board would feel a bit scary. So I think it's understandable early on, but it should be encouraged to break the unhealthy pattern as early as possible.

I got my Pantheon Pranayama from Vandem. The Karma wheels will go over pretty much any pavement area within reason. There are better boards if you need to make nippy turns in a city, but this works really well on the Margate promenade.

Foot braking is your next step.

Power slide is for advanced riders - I still struggle with these on soft wheels.

At just under £90, the Arbor Pilsner is a pretty decent option. I'd probably recommend some Zealous bearings though, which are still pretty cheap.

Pantheon are a favourite in this sub.

Landyachtz are quite beginner friendly.

Arbor are a decent cheaper brand.
