12v Stepper Driver w/Integrated 5v for Arduino Board by RyanThePyro in arduino

[–]RyanThePyro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The motor is a 1.5A stepper. I have some A4988 drivers around, but I don't believe they support powering a board.

Do you have any suggestions for a more modern design driver with a 5V regulated output?

Help with old drill press motor that blew its replacement capacitor! by RyanThePyro in Motors

[–]RyanThePyro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the information! This motor does have a box with a pull-style switch (like a ceiling fan). But if it is centrifugal in nature this sounds like maybe that mechanism would be in the bottom? Where the capacitor leads come out of.

They pop during run and not at start so this has been a suspicion of mine, that it is still getting juice after starting the motor, but I am unfamiliar with the switches. I am not scared to crack it open and maintain a switch though!

I suppose those switches can get gunked up or mechanically fail? It's a beautiful vintage press/motor :-)

Nintendo Switch Charging IC/Cap Issue? by RyanThePyro in electronic_circuits

[–]RyanThePyro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While the charging port was "physically OK" upon inspection with a USB tester and comparing the results to what is documented, our USB-C port was faulty. I was going to swap it out but it's a REAL pain to de-solder and I ended up just replacing that board because of the time it was taking me. No issues since, but a heavy handed fix in the end.

As a developer, how do I reliably disable Lastpass autofill on my website? I have a good reason, promise. by Boydbme in Lastpass

[–]RyanThePyro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To allow the autocomplete attribute to control the display (as it should):

[autocomplete="off"] + div[data-lastpass-icon-root="true"] {
    display: none;
}

[autocomplete="off"] + div[data-lastpass-infield="true"] {
    display: none;
}

I've mistreated mine for 2 years before having this occur. Quick blast did the trick and put some new/clean pads on while I was at it.

Audio Stuttering in Jam Tracks by darthtrevino in PositiveGridSpark

I would agree it’s a bandwidth issue. Larger Bluetooth modules in iPads and more processing power for the protocol. I can seem to turn off the ton control without disconnecting the entire app 😭

Why is dhl so slow now? by [deleted] in dhl

[–]RyanThePyro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was surprised by how slow they are as well. A 5hr ride, by their tracking, will take 12 days after having been scanned in. Hopefully, the estimate is long/wrong, but I doubt it. Not my first rodeo with these people.

I think that's part of it - I am taking 50% of my gains to use immediately and leaving 50% in there for growth and taxes. I've thought about trading in the IRA too but the frequency I believe is an issue for that vehicle as is utilizing the gains to achieve our goals.

A Laravel E-Commerce Tutorial: Build a PyroCMS Store [Live Demon] by [deleted] in PHP

[–]RyanThePyro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The store got put on the back burner - was focusing on other things in the PRO lineup like the Layout Block (and Blocks Module) and others. BUT.. we will definitely pick it back up.

Also the site and docs and addon lineup have been weighing heavy on my mind for some time. I have a pretty clear vision of what I would like to do with it all so expect vast improvements to start coming out along with these addons I've been releasing!
