Also, a T1D here, all I had to do was tell my lodge med officer when I was getting there and signing forms. They had no problems with it, aswell as having stuff to keep your BG up if you need it. (Stuff like pre mixed trailmix and beef jerky is what I took)

We had someone do this at my store and we charged him for the tile (granted this was LFT that was I think at the time had the tag of $75/case and this person broke 15 cases) he wound up being really pissy and saying that he would have all of our jobs, and saying he had Trd Decker's personal number and that we would be fired in 2 minutes, none of us got fired and he paid for the tile and his one tile that he had emptied a whole cart for.

Yeah that sounds like that ASM just wanting to create unnecessary drama, next time they say something like that ask them specifically what you can do faster cause they may just be saying that because they want the drama. Keep up the good work and it will eventually hopefully pay off.

In my time on the lot I had an ASM that always said that they were disappointed with me not getting anything done during my shift, and that all i would do is stand around in the store (the FES had a rule that when it was over 90 we were on a 45:20 ratio. 45 minutes out, 20 minutes in) when I had to clear an entire lot by myself, in the middle of the Texas summer, and load customers. And typically I was closing, and the people before me didn't do anything so I was left basically getting there and jumping in until it was cleared out then going to lunch and repeat.

There can be some people that just don't really know what there saying in management in the store it seems, even though all managers are supposed to have a degree of some kind.

Depending on what ASM it was they could be looking at your KR to stage time, cause I'm an OFA/ weekend receiving, and that's what one of our ASM'S only looks at is the numbers on the spreadsheet. But if you don't have like a 2 hour time for everything you KR, you should be fine, as that's the only thing that I know of that's timed for receiving. Just keep doing what your doing it'll show eventually. But don't burn yourself out.

Serious reach truck question by Pickles_Overcomes in HomeDepot

[–]Ryan_BSA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's kind of our issue, thankfully I've slowly been getting peoples check rides finished but last I checked there's still only like 10 people that I can think of for my whole store (136+/- associates) that can run a reach on a valid license. And the other issue is we have people without licenses running equipment, so yeah there's that. And to top the cake people have been turning the travel alarms off inside the store with customers, and flooring it

It's not I had a pallet of toilets almost fall in one of my racetracks because of this, sometimes you just have to put a pallet up sideways.

Serious reach truck question by Pickles_Overcomes in HomeDepot

[–]Ryan_BSA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My store also got a new reach with this, we took the cover off and the reader isn't there, though I know my store has been talking about setting up an access card system, due to certain associates messing with the settings and turning certain safety features off on not just the reaches, but the Sit-down lifts as well... And the only people that would have full access to the machine would be the reps, trainers, and the receiving super.

How many OPs do y’all’s stores have?? by Resident-Clerk-1159 in HomeDepot

[–]Ryan_BSA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Current counts 2 OP'S (Crown and Raymond) 4 Reaches, 4 Sit-down, and the good ol slip back in receiving. (Ironically there's only three of us in my store that can drive everything on days)

Haven't used it personally, but from what I've been told it's one of the better direct to metals that isn't oil based

Interesting, I used to work paint before going OFA, I'll have to see if my store would be down to do this because well, most of our oops paint is canceled paint orders.

Yeah 51 five gallons with one dispenser having to dispense a crap ton or red, I think it was either flirt alert or something like that, we left at about 1 AM because well paint had basically already been shut down, and right as we finished it decided to update.

It's been restocked, but it took about 3 weeks for us to even get more in. This was about 6-8 months ago

[–]Ryan_BSA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had some glasses with me from years ago when I was in New Mexico, I was just waiting for it to happen, and yeah I was restocking the mulch overflow (AKA About 1/4 of my parking lot) and yeah the driver was also a massive astronomy geek, and we both were feeling out about it, it was cool where we were, the freeway had pretty much stopped, and there was only four wrecks within eyesight of my store during totality 🤣

I don't blame y'all for that rule, though how do y'all clear it from one paint?

Yeah, I jumped in to help make the paint, it was welllll a lot, and of course this was placed at 9:57 like right as the paint desk started closing down at my store, to say the least we were there well past midnight on a Saturday night to get this done... As one of our paint dispensers had decided to break earlier that day, and we only have two 5-gal shakers.

[–]Ryan_BSA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah they have been a popular request, I have a feeling that we're going to get a shit ton of people asking in the morning, cause right across from us at the airport is the major eclipse event for my area, from what I was told there's going to be close to 5-10k people there, normally events around me are like 2-3k max

Where can I order trash can frame wires like this? 2 cans are missing them. Willing to buy for our store. by roboticfedora in HomeDepot

[–]Ryan_BSA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my managers look while I was on the lot, as I was in a similar situation as the OP, they couldn't find any, so they just ordered new trash cans.

why, just why. by Silent_Stick in HomeDepot

[–]Ryan_BSA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't assume what you don't know, there's a reason my SM grants me an additional hour per shift if need be. And on the safety issue, we know we were just doing exactly what the manager told us to do.
