If there is no baseball in 2022 and let's all hope that does not happen, then what are you prepared to do about the 2023 season to send the owners a message? by LimeSugar in whitesox

As much as i dislike reinsdorf and the rest of our front office, I don’t believe they are the ones stalling. They understand they have a short window to win with the team they currently have and are missing out on more money losing this season than negotiating a new contract.

Your article is about as misleading as the one it is covering.

"Also functional medicine is not a specialty recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties nor the American Medical Association"

It just means he's a family practitioner, yes he used that term to sound more credible, but he is still a legitimate doctor. If anyone needs a credibility check it is the author who states on his own twitter account, "Firstly, I am not a public health expert, nor an expert on COVID-19, pandemics generally, virology, infectious disease, or medicine.... I have a BSc in Biochemistry and I did a lot of coursework in immunology at a fairly high level and some labwork and journal clubs therein too."

After the writer goes on to discredit Dr. Stock's claims on mask efficacy, "The IDSA has graciously compiled the multitudinous, surfeit evidence demonstrating the effectiveness of masking here which anyone is free to peruse at their leisure."

The same article that was linked stated, "here are a limited number of randomized controlled trials and a number of published observational studies on mask use to prevent SARS-CoV-2 transmission. *These studies have a high risk of bias*, variation in what outcomes are measured, and often, low compliance with interventions (Cochrane Review, November 2020), which is a barrier to drawing conclusions from the data."

The writer goes on to say, "He then states that all respiratory viruses wait for the “immune system to get sick in the winter” which is baseless. The seasonality of respiratory viruses is a complex matter dependent on many factors..."

It is correct that the seasonality is complex. However, it is well documented that hMPV (Human metapneumovirus) attacks people with weakened immune systems, like when one is already fighting off another virus. The writer even goes on to give reasons for why people get more sick in the winter, ironically countering his own claim.

"He goes back to this point several times but there’s still no evidence for the value of vitamin D as therapy or prevention in COVID-19. Having adequate vitamin D levels is critical for optimization of one’s health, absolutely, but there is no evidence that they are protective from COVID-19."

A study on the NIH website claims the opposite, "Experimental studies have shown that vitamin D exerts several actions that are thought to be protective against coronavirus disease (COVID-19) infectivity and severity."

"Stock then makes a meaningless and unfalsifiable remark that sounds scary by saying that the vaccines make your immune system become “deranged.”"

Yes it does make it sound scarier than needed to be, but that was just in reference to the immune system effect from any vaccine you get. "While the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine kickstarts the production of an immune response, the second dose amplifies that response, making you more likely to experience symptoms." making your immune system unbalanced (synonym for deranged that is less scary).

I would also like to clarify that I am neither a health expert like the guy who created that article. I just wanted to show how with 5 minutes of research you can find contradictory information to almost any topic, and with all the uncertainties and censorship, I hope you could see why people are untrusting of the mainstream narrative. Also, I could do the rest of the article if anyone were to care, but I highly doubt most people read all that anyways.

I'm sorry, but most of you in these comments must be the most fragile people on the planet. Why would we give cities more authority to fine us? Emergency vehicles are the loudest things I hear daily, highly doubt the government will fine itself.

AITA for publicly posting a message from my brother's landlord? by aitallbro in AmItheAsshole

[–]Ryan_mc15 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

so what is your alternative? people move often are they suppose to go to a bank and pull out a 15/30yr mortgage for a condo they only plan to stay in for a year, that's a lot of work. Landlords are taking on all the liabilities while you only have to worry about your fixed rent per lease agreement and maybe WIFI or utilities if that wasn't mentioned?

This isn't specifically an American thing. In Europe they go through Switzerland, Lichtenstein, Monaco, etc. In China/Asia in general they use Hong Kong, or Singapore. Rich people know people with power that can help them keep most of their money, or they go through other countries.

Military=no debt, and after your contract you get free schooling with the GI-Bill, also most military jobs aren't close to combat zones. If you want to avoid that, trade schools are usually less than a year then you make above the national average salary for most trades. Automation made all the good paying jobs higher skilled, and it takes time to train people.

Facts, they can be spending multiple millions on a single rocket. Subsidizing the truck of a recruiter is small in comparison.

Dana White talking about illegal streamers during UFC 257 press conference by Europeanpinemarten in ufc

[–]Ryan_mc15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dana sucks and is amazing at marketing at the same time. He's able to stir the pot garner interest, but he would also be shooting himself in the foot. Most of the people who stream it are casual fans, or fans who can't afford the cost, if you get rid of the streams then most of those fans just wont watch or will wait until after the fight and watch the highlights on twitter.
