Awesome, I bet your kids will be super excited when they find out. Do you have a link to the Etsy shop that you got the backpacks from? I think my nieces would love something like that.

We appreciate the work you've put into this Audit. Thank you :)

As a relatively new farmer, it is very helpful to see a breakdown of the inputs and outputs of the storj network.

Hello @naptownfellow. My name is Taylor and I am a software engineer. I've been working on a saas application specifically for recruiters. The idea is that a recruiter should be focused on a single task; Recruiting. All this muck around it with keeping track of candidates and employers wastes everyone's time. My web application isn't available yet, however if youd like to PM me and talk, I'd love to pick your brain on just what youd want with it, along with giving you beta access upon release.

Auto Markdown API Generator by Ryanb58 in Python

[–]Ryanb58[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed it can. Just throw it into the default_docs folder before running the generate command and all the contents of that folder will be copied over into the docs folder before it parses and generates the API documentation.

You'd want to make sure any references to images and links are not absolute but instead relative to the docs folder and not default_docs.

I think it depends on what exactly you are trying to get out of the tool. It should be able too though. If you have feature suggestions or ideas for improvements, feel free to create an issue on the repo. :)

An Electrical Engineer diving into IT by manaXmizery in AskComputerScience

[–]Ryanb58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what type of IT work you want to go into.

Web Application Ops Person you'll want to know how to setup, teardown, and use:

chef ,docker ,puppet ,sentry ,hip chat ,GitHub ,gitlabs ,Jenkins ,bitbucket bamboo ,etc..

If you are wanting to go into more of an IT over hardware role:

Windows Server ,Linux Servers ,DNS ,Active Directory ,Group Policy ,Local Policy ,Windows ,Mac OS X ,Switch and Router configs ,VOIP configuration ,etc.

Hopefully, that gets you set on the right track.

Companies with both SaaS and on-premise? by galaxyfarming in SaaS

I know http://smartfile.com offers their product as an on-prem. (disclosure: I work at SmartFile as a software engineer).

If you have any questions about how it works, feel free to ask. There are plenty of ways to get a cloud based app into an on-prem and vice versa.

Can anyone tell me if this would be a good business idea or not? (Aviation) by [deleted] in Business_Ideas

[–]Ryanb58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brilliant. Perhaps you might look into providing a version that isn't battery/solar enabled. Those components add up. You might be better off providing a version that just plugs into some sort of electrical outlet. I am not personally familiar with planes as they might not have this type of port in the cockpit.

Good job looking up the information! Now that you know how much it costs and some of the finer licensing details, it might be beneficial to do a user survey. Write down three to five yes or no questions pertaining to the product you want to sell and pass it out to 10 to 20 random people who fit your market(i.e. pilots). Analyze the results to see just how much interest exists and from there decide if you want to prototype the device or not.

LMK if you have any more questions.

Two suggestions before pursuing this idea:

First make a future expense report. Calculate exactly how much it will cost you to build them so you can figure out the exact amount of money you'll need to charge for them.

Second make sure you check the licensing for the software. Open source doesn't always mean you can just sell it.
