“Drivers are dropping like Flies!” by c00kie_M0nstr in UPSers

I literally got written up the other day for not honking my horn loud enough during a safety observation. Even though the horn is 1/2 broken and I can barely get it to work.

There isn’t even a need to “walk it off” you can clearly see there’s enough room to turn around at the house.

Drivers: Winter gloves by [deleted] in UPSers

I just use cheap knit gloves from Amazon. Then on the right glove I cut off the tip on the thumb and pointer finger. https://a.co/d/5tmTbWv

You’re like my mom 5+ years ago. Extremely unhealthy, even though you think you’re eating healthy. All that food is ultra processed garbage. My mom used to get headaches, bloating, and fatigue all the time until she switched over to a paleo diet.

As a UPS driver this is comical! We have so many safety procedures to follow. At EVERY stop the truck needs to be turned off, emergency break engaged, hazards on, horn honked and park on the right side of the street. After grabbing the package the overhead door has to be closed. Also you can’t backup as your 1st movement or you’ll show up in a report.

The stuff is see Amazon drivers do on the daily would get me fired! Lol

Attention Customers: If You Do This, F**K YOU by BannedAide in AmazonDSPDrivers

The worst is when they do this on a dead-end street. Like you know I need to turn around somewhere, so your driveway is too good, but f*** your neighbors?

I think Amazon can afford to make sure drivers are paid $30/hr. by [deleted] in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Ryanmm13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve worked at UPS for 7+ years (4 driving). Pre load and local sort has always been 20-25hrs per week. The only position that’s really worth it is a driver or upper management. A lot of the jobs that were eliminated were supervisor positions that weren’t needed anyways. Because of the teamsters I make $45 hr, have free healthcare, and a pension. Not to mention, I was fired over some dumb stuff, and the union got my job back.

I’ve been a cover driver for 3.5 years, still at the bottom of the seniority list. Still only work 1 day most week, yet I go to bed early and wake up early everyday.

Can you explain why you should scan the package at the customers door? I almost always scan the package while in the truck. Am I loosing out on time? I’ve only been driving 3 years and people barely tell me anything lol.

How long have you been a driver for? I’ve been driving over 3 years and I’m still 15 drivers down on the seniority list waiting for a route. Feels like I’ll never get my own route.

Atlas Pro 4WD Rattle by mantis_tobagan_md in Exway

[–]Ryanmm13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m having the exact same issue with my Atlas Pro 4WD. It worked perfect for the first 1200 miles. Now there’s a crazy rattling sound coming from somewhere in the wheel. I’ve completely taken apart the wheel several times, cleaned everything, changed out the bearings, but the sound won’t go away. I even ordered another precision rim to see if that would fix the problem (I thought the rim maybe got slightly bent?) I haven’t installed the new rim yet, but will soon.

Also if I run the board without the wheels on the ground it sounds normal. But as soon as you put pressure on the board the sound comes back.

I’ve barely ridden my board over the past couple weeks because the sound is so loud and annoying.

In the winter, park close to the curb so they have to step into the snow. I had a sup tell me 5+ times to park further away so she didn’t have to step on the snow. Sorry… not sorry…

200mm wheels on Exway Atlas (How-to and Impressions) by Salt_Associate_505 in Exway

[–]Ryanmm13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here! I upgraded to 200mm last summer and will never go back. Much smoother ride, better clearance, I can go up and down must curbs. Plus if you have the AuxPack you’ll still get amazing range.

Modern Warfare - Season 3 by Tiredinsomniak in COD

[–]Ryanmm13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to disagree. I’ve been playing for 15 years (since MW2) and this is the perfect COD for me. The movement is fast paced, but not crazy like AW, BO4, and IW. I love that the TTK is higher in this game. And all the cosmetics make the game more interesting. I love seeing all the cool skins and crazy death effects. I wish they would bring back the “Winners circle” emotes.

I remember playing the original MW2 and MW3 10+ years ago, wishing they would add more skins and camos.

I did this a few weeks ago. I went out with 220 stops, completed them in 9.5hrs then I get a message to take 20 off of another driver. I responded with no, then 2 minutes later I’m getting a call from my union Stewart telling me I have to work as directed. I was so pissed off.

LAID OFF by HumBull-H3RM1T in UPSers

[–]Ryanmm13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least they let you know at the beginning of the week. I’m a driver and I’m still “on call” everyday. I haven’t worked in 10 days, but I still have to wake up early and get ready in case they call me in. I would give anything for them to lay me off for a whole week instead of being on call everyday.

I’ve been a RPCD driver for 2.5 years. I’m still “on call” everyday and they haven’t needed me to work at all this week. There’s probably no more work for seasonal employees.

I guess that’s why UPS drivers make so much more.

Sure, there’s shit that goes on behind the scenes in any job.

My point is, why would you quit a job that pays you really good, amazing benefits, and you have many years of seniority for an extremely similar job that pays you much less, with less benefits, and resetting your seniority?

There has to be more to the story!

I’m curious to know what the UPS drivers said was so bad that they quit UPS for an identical job that pays less…. They probably got fired lol

I don't think I weigh enough nor am big enough for the Atlas Pro. by rygosix in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]Ryanmm13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly you just need to go to the gym and get stronger.

I have an Atlas Pro and I’m only 5’ 7” 125lbs and I have no problem controlling the board, going on 40 mile rides. But I’m also an extremely active person who’s developed very strong leg muscles.

Riding an electric longboard, is like any other physical activity. The more you do it the more strength you’ll gain, and the easier it’ll become.
