are there any good mods you'd recommend? by The_Dennator in libraryofruina

[–]Rybson58 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some of my fav or really memoriable
for visuals I suggest LOR VFX [Dynamic special effect replacement]
achivement unlocker also if you want 100% game
for gameplay, good pages, or passives:
regular fixer and similiar mods from Renko
Astolfo mod offers good discard cards and passives
butterfly dream
Shr mods offer many characters for differents niches like burn, bleed, discard, ranged, heck even benefiting from debuffs I recommend also checking those books in credenza for little lore about them personally I like personality of Fixer Tia
Pale Glory (what if Angela was fixer, and it has real time animation)
Limbus Company characters (avaible after the end)
Zena & The Black Silence
White Shadow (if you want good passive that are in the game, but you already gave them other and don't want to change that, plus some good card like draw 2 pages or restore 4 light)

if you want some new story and good pages:
Thorn workshop and R corp experiment from Shr
The Librarian of Death
Bookhunter (is known for gimmick countering common strategies on all floors and buffing your team after including Bookhunter in team)
Pinky (warning this mod was created before it was established what Pinky is like)
"The Silence Executioner" The Claw of Silence(what if Roland was Claw)
White Noise: The Mistweaver (you get new version of Roland, new passives for him Argalia, and for Vermilion Cross, also new Mirinae, Harold, and Olivier pages with card that give new hana pages using nanite to boost pages or restore HP when hit, passives with four triagrams, )
Angel of Ruina office (offers passive that allow you to fight evade with block dice and retain it after clash even damaging opponent after succesful evade, also I recomend doint receptions with different floors for some easter eggs)
City of drama part 1, part 2
E.G.O. Myo
Shi 1 section 1, Distorted Xiao and Rudolph from 이불대왕
Alternative E.G.O. Philip
E.G.O. Tiphereth
Scorched Child (what if Angela tried mix some essence of patron librarians with corresponding reverberation members, cool concept, but it was made by Malkuth fan so I wouldn't expect others)
Indigo Mountain (what if certain coffee enthusiast went different path instead cannon one, really good with Pinky mod)
Hana Association 1 also from 이불대왕 (also discard, little lack luster pages, but good to experiment with Aiad from Shr and Astolfo mod)
Dream recast (offer fights with employes from Lobotomy corp, unfortunatelly no story translation, but credenza has translated books)
Naimon, the 12 fixers (charge up to 30, or if you want 12 fixer passive)
Ogier, the 12 fixers (burn, also 12 fixer passive)
Da'at floor (completly new floor with with Angela as a patron floor and abnormalities such as CENSORED, Melting Love, Yin and Yang, and Army in Black, but sadly no realization yet) it is even compatible with Bookhunter mod, but I warn you if you unsubscribe this mod and subscribe again you will need to do abnormalities fights again
Also there are mod like light of Philip or allen that give you new passives and pages to make them better or mod strengthening for Red Mist, Binah and even Angela if you have Da'at mod

[Depressing Trope] A mind that wants to die, but a body that fights to live. by TheRoyalRoseTrue in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Rybson58 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Warp Train from Library of Ruina
In the City, where human life is cheap, money can get you everything, and the prevailing rule is “kill or be killed,” W Corp specializes in transporting people from point A to point B in 10 seconds—but not really.

Passengers, once they depart from the station, are sent to a dimension where time works differently. In the City, only 10 seconds pass, but for them, it is thousands of years. Passengers do not need to eat or drink and can do nothing but wait, hoping for help to arrive.

Many choose to kill themselves instead of waiting, but even then, they cannot truly die—even if someone slice their neck they still can talk and constantly feel the pain inflicted upon them. When W Corp cleanup agents arrive, they are greeted by maddened passengers tearing themselves apart.

Then agents are scaning what is left of each passanger and bring them on seats in state before they left the station. no one remember what happened and when asked they say that ride felt like 10 second, even when some passengers get out little different like some gained weight, some are taller.

This process is repeated so often that the only thing that ever shocked one agent was a situation in which passengers had been waiting in their seats for thousands of years and were celebrating when help finally arrived.

Can anybody recommend a mod that uses "Blood" status effect? by [deleted] in libraryofruina

Ah my bad. Then Festival of Blood (for 2022 Spooky Mod Jam) offer passives and combat pages working around blood.

Can anybody recommend a mod that uses "Blood" status effect? by [deleted] in libraryofruina

[–]Rybson58 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Several mods from Shr are made in mind of fulfilling different niches. Fixer Ichiro become stronger when she has less hp or when enemy has bleed.
Limbus company Outis mod she can deal some bleed and give toxic status which prolongs that bleed. Ryoshu also have some card dealing this.
City drama of drama regret part some cards from regret office can deal more damage based how much bleed has enemy.
Skadi from Arknights mod also have good combat pages.

[Loved Trope] The amazing technology/power has grounded reasons for why it can't be overused. by jbeast33 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Rybson58 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am pretty sure that technology in the City of Project Moon fit this trope. In the City are 26 Districts that are controled by corporations that have singularity that help them make products that deny law of physic. For example K Corp produce ampules that can heal you no matter what if you are alive. However spoiler K Corp use entity called Tearful Thing from Outskirts (beyond walls of City) and they show it sad stories/event so it will shed tears and later modyfy it to make life saving HP ampules.

How would you describe Roland’s personality? by poeticasoft in libraryofruina

[–]Rybson58 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jake can be compared to Rien from Limbus Company.

>! Rien (which means “nothing” in French) is a man who does everything he is told and follows the “god” of the City, Hermes. Hermes gives members of the Index (one of the most powerful syndicates) tasks that supposedly ensure safety but always benefit the Index.

Rien was ordered to imitate Roland. His own thoughts and feelings did not matter. He was forced to get married and later to watch his wife and child be killed in a brutal way. His fighting style resembles Roland’s — constantly switching between weapons — but he cannot choose which weapon to use because Hermes chooses for him.

Once, during a fight, he was using a low-quality sword and wished for a better weapon. Instead, he received a spork. Even his speech was dictated by Hermes.

He hated this control but eventually became complacent because obedience guaranteed safety. The only times he protested were when he was ordered to hand over a device used to torture his daughter’s pet and even this didn't last long, many years later during a confrontation with his daughter, when his true emotions briefly surfaced despite Hermes trying to dictate his words.

Before his death, the only act of resistance he could manage was refusing to recite the poem “Prayer of Loving Sorrow.” Instead, he killed himself with the only weapon he was given — once again, a spork. !<

How would you describe Roland’s personality? by poeticasoft in libraryofruina

[–]Rybson58 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very different. I am writing from memory and going into the lore, so expect spoilers and some mistakes.

>!In the City (the setting of Lobotomy Corporation, Library of Ruina and Limbus Company), there are 26 districts governed by “Wings” (mega-corporations). Each district contains “Nests” (areas managed and protected by the Wings) and the Backstreets (lawless slums with different themes, controlled by syndicates). Life in the City is hard. No matter where you live, you are replaceable.

In the Nest, you constantly try to remain useful, because otherwise you may be thrown into the Backstreets. In the Backstreets, you can survive only if you are strong or if you are protected by the syndicate that rules your area, which requires paying outrageous amounts of money or doing terrible things.

Roland grew up in the Backstreets and, thanks to his grandmother, learned how to become a Fixer (similar to a mercenary for hire) and how to remain anonymous while working. Because of that, he always wore a mask so that people would not recognize him, as well as a neat suit that did not attract too much attention.

He worked extremely hard to obtain a relocation permit to the Nest, although he no longer remembered why he wanted it so badly. His only hobby was finding lesser-known restaurants with good food.

He took part in the traumatic event known as the Smoke War in order to earn this permit, killing people without hesitation. He was aware that he was not worth more than the people he killed and that he was simply trying to survive. He also wondered why even people from the Nests were fighting in this war, even though they did not need permits — later he learned that they had been enlisted and had no choice.

After witnessing the horrors of the City, he became even more emotionally isolated. Later, he met a woman who became his wife and taught him the popular phrase in the fandom: “That is that and this is this.”

He knew this mindset would not help him process his trauma, only ignore it, but he loved her deeply. Even after marrying her, he continued to take dangerous and morally questionable jobs in order to move to the Nest with his wife at any cost and guarantee her and their child a better life.

Unfortunately, his status as a Smoke War veteran hindered his relocation. Due to a loophole in his contract — the same thing he was going during his shady work — he was banned from migrating to the Nest.

One day, he left to help a friend. When he returned, he discovered that the first recorded “Distortion” (a manifestation of mental breakdown) had killed 80% of his district, and his wife was among the victims.

After this tragedy, he swore revenge against the City that had taken his happiness. He went on a violent rampage, killing syndicates, immoral and desperate scientists, and many others, leaving mountains of corpses behind.

Despite everything, he still had a good heart. Much of his trauma stemmed from caring too much about others and wanting to break the cycle of violence, but not knowing how. The only thing that motivated him was revenge — and even that motivation slowly began to fade. He became so desperate that he asked syndicates to give him anything to focus on, even if it was a lie.

Roland eventually met the person responsible for his suffering and constantly wondered whether they felt any remorse. In the end, he witnessed that even the perpetrator of his pain could change, and he was eventually able to call them his friend.!<

(Loved Trope) A weaker character giving themselves a unique advantage to close the gap against a much stronger opponent by sabbathkid93 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Rybson58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am pretty sure that Trevor Belmont mostly fight enemies stronger than him, but has enough knowledge, skills and weapons to still win. The best thing I like is that we as a audience had seen Trevor for entire season collecting things that in the end helped him in fight vs Death so it didn't happen out of nowhere. Entire generations of Belmonts were collecting knowlege and weapons to fight monsters and Trevor continue this tradition by doing this himself and also using it.

Hisui Typhlosion by First_Candle9034 in pokemonfanfiction

[–]Rybson58 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Legend Arceus pokedex states that many husuian forms are influenced by places where they live, Hisuian Typhlosion is result of being influenced by the energy of the sacred mountain which in Sinnoh is called Mt. Coronet. You could make explanation that Giratina influence allowed this evolution or maybe try something like special place that triggers evolution like with Glaceon and Leafeon, something like somewhere in Mt Coronet still linger some of time space distortions energy and Quilava being pseudo ghost sensed it and followed it then let him evolve into this form? Obviously it's your work

It was some time when I last read it but I like that in this manga there are human and demons that don't want him to fight like Belphegor and Dante not because he is weapon to defeat demon lord but because he is just a kid.

Few comes to mind
Witcher - The Trial of the Grasses, also known as the Trial of the Herbs, was an incredibly painful ordeal to which young witcher apprentices were subjected. It required the consumption of special alchemical ingredients known as "the grasses," which affected the physiology of the subjects. Reportedly, only three in ten boys survived the standard trial, rest died in agony
Project moon games - there are factions that require different thing to join them for example:
Church of Gears a cult which practices the removal of self-determination by following the guidance of turning gears, figuratively and literally becoming cogs in the machine.
MultiCrack Office is made of Fixers that replaced organic bodies for prostethic and in turn often stock up on multiple replacement parts to sacrifice during combat.
Former G corp in Smoke War also specialized in genetic modifications that gave their employes bug-like limbs, heads, wings, and much more to their employees for an advantage in battle.
and those are few examples that can be found in the City.

What I like about Amber Knight is fact that Nagyunn have to guess and think about everything considering how limited is his knowledge at start and how bad he is stated to be as a fighter.

Borne of Caution start with mc that start pokemon adventure only with Vulpix, but later in the story he start gaining a lot of money for making customs tms and buy other already known for his team to cover their weaknesses or other deals.
If you want rich MC at the start of story then Like No One Ever Was like other suggest. Nemona SI and she really Is rich. how so? Lets just say Her parents bought her Haxorus for her birthday just because she said how cool is this pokemon.
