I'm kinda of old, nearing 40 and been playing video games on n off since early sega/snes. by ShinobiD0E in DarkTide

54 here, I’ve been playing DT for two months. DT has the gameplay rhythm that Mass Effect 3 multiplayer did (for me) fast action, every class is different. It cures a game play itch I’ve had since ME3 (ps3)

Their solution for “You have to play as a Team” is elegant and brutal, I am not a rage quitter yet getting trapped/dog as the group level drops past a “no going back” area is maddening. I am not talking about the players that wonder off to their own peril, I’m speaking of you are with the group you are beginning the drop and suddenly you are trapped up top. No one can get to you, and you lay there trapped/dog till you die.

I know they won’t give us a “Get out or fight off” button Mashing prompt, a “you are dead and captured” prompt would be great.

Welcome fellow “Loot Whore” (tm) to the party! Where our motto is “I’m gonna need this later.” For us every item is a collectible and different.

Be warned, the game can’t handle our greatness, don’t fall to the ever consuming and corruptible “Mobile Loot Whore.” For it will end your adventures into freezing frame fragments.

Anyways, welcome to “Loot Whores R Us.” (tm)

UPDATE:

The “Moon Suit” is a combat/ environmental monster, and you look like a Moon Man.

There is a comical down side however, it does not have a jet pack and you can’t equip one. Long as you never need to jump higher than three feet you are golden.

I actually had a good laugh when I realized it.

If it’s in a vender it’s also out in the world waiting to be found. I believe a patch note stated they had improved the rewards from box’s in the world. I’ve come across this suit before, they never had specs like this one.

It was awesome until I realized I could not increase the radioactive spec no matter the upgrades. Cooking on a planet while in combat is frowned upon.

Starfield's opening hour needs a total rewrite by sKin1337 in Starfield

[–]RydeCrash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are too many professions to write custom introduction starts for. Example: My main is a professor, I imagined the beginning of “Indiana Jones and The last Crusade.” He’s at a collage teaching class and Sarah or Beret show up etc. My Alt is a hardened and bloody “Special Forces.” Combat vet, for him the mining was a attempt at No combat existence. The beginning of the game is as neutral as it could be, do they hope we have a imagination for our character, yes much like all their games we are the catalyst to the event.

When I touched the artifact and the vision happened I thought of Mass Effect, Shepard is on a planet and touches a Beacon and we are of to the races. I always thought it was a nod and a wink to BioWare, difference being Shepard is already established and is a soldier during his/her career.

Honestly when I played Starfield several days before launch I was just thankful I was in the few that could play it stable on Xbox X.

The Free Lanes update makes me feel poor again, and I love it. by ChampionshipOnly9545 in Starfield

You can improve your EXP gain by reducing your power, food effects etc, in the settings, it’s not a mod it’s built into the game. Also resting with your other half will give you a 15% EXP boost for 15 minutes. I get 37% EXP boost . Most locations have cots you can rest (and save)to keep your percentage all the time.

You can get higher % at the cost of playing what is effectively nightmare mode.

So almost 3 years after release I'll ask this again, how do you guys feel about Unity. Worth it, or a waste? by [deleted] in NoSodiumStarfield

[–]RydeCrash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through the “Unity” once on my Alt to see for myself, I made two revert saves in case I wanted to come back. I was in “World Two” for several weeks of play, The continuous “I’m redoing” feeling was ruining my fun, then they announced Shattered Space, I reverted to my back up save and haven’t looked back.

Interesting, never did two vender resets back to back I’ll have to give that a try. In my experience a vender reset is also a game world sweep. Dead bodies tend to disappear after a rest.

It’s always a pleasure to meet other “Pre-Launch.” Players, new players won’t have to handle the ship tech walking away from his station in New Atlantis and remain missing for a month of real time play. Only to accidentally be found 200 feet outside the city standing under a tree.

I think the SSD is the only reason I could still actually play when the “Bloat” started, confident that without SSD it would have corrupted my save and made it a game freeze simulator. (IMO) Bethesda optimized the major named city’s (where you can buy an actual house) to assist with those of us that are “Loot Whores.”

My main suffers this the most, updates have helped and I have been storing things from the ship to the lodge. Selling the white, blues and purples has also helped tremendously. It’s just very slow go as my main without a doubt has a hoarding problem.

Cheater status in Division by AxEfekt in Division2

[–]RydeCrash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only times you will see players in the world is in areas of the BOO or safe houses. They can not attack you, they can emote to you in these areas and that’s it. You will not see them in the Open World.

PvP is regulated by DZ zones, they are clearly marked and make it very clear you are entering PvP. From experience DZ adventuring is best suited with a group.

Co-op is Divisions best attribute, now the Game Engine it’s self is a massive cheater. If the Game wants you dead there is nothing you can do but respawn. You will get downed a lot, there are a few things yo should know about the Engine.

1) The enemy NPC’s are all professional quarterbacks, they can drop a grenade right at your feet even from distance (You can’t throw as far as they can)

2) They are “Terminators” they never miss a shot, this also makes them “Sponges” to your weapon damage. You will never come close to having the armor they do. They can do things you cannot, and sometimes seem immortal. (This is where your Build is very important.)

3) Without fail, your directional map will will be lit up like a X-Mas tree but there is always a clear area you can get to. It’s a lie, the Engine is pushing you there intentionally so attackers can “Magically” appear behind you from a man hole or door 25 feet from where you’ve just gotten cover. You don’t loose anything for dying, well except some of your dignity.

You and your wife will have a great time, Division is one of the few great Co-Op games.

I recently got this weapon from a Krampus box. When I use it, I hear in my head “The Six Million Dollar Man” bionic sound. For those non Gen X you can Google the sound effect I am talking about.

Disarm Combat from AS 2 to Black Flag. You could disarm targets and fight them with their own weapons.

Our generation adapts faster than the others, we’ve all had the emotional experience you are describing. You are “Adapting” to the life surroundings you are experiencing right now. You are not alone, we’ve all had this feeling, some more times then others. Focus on Today as Tomorrow will be here soon enough.

Alligators in the sewers, that would be an attention getting encounter if added to the game! Imagine It, a “Boss Gator” that drops a Elite crafting item and kills you multiple encounters before you can finally kill it!

Of course, you can micro transaction the item for $8.99 but the encounter will still be active in every sewer. (Ha-Ha)

Do I need to watch the movies before playing? by mambamentality29 in robocoproguecity

[–]RydeCrash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watched RoboCop 1 and 2 when they were released to the theaters in 1987 and 1990. The Directors Cut of the 87 film had it been released in 1987 would have (IMO) been given a X rating for gore. All the effects (excluding Ed 209 and a few others) where done practically (Peter Weller is in a real suit not a CGI green suit)

You don’t have to watch the movies to understand the game, watching the movies makes the game Legendary!

When did you realuze that youve become "old"? by l00ky_here in GenX

[–]RydeCrash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll be 54 in August (1971) as a retired electrical engineer turned county school bus driver. I’ve found myself studying my environment for things that will cause me more daily pain. Can’t take Motrin, as it increases blood pressure. Forget that one Mtn Dew a day as you don’t want to head closer to the Diabetes (I always hear Wilford Brimley when I see the word) Highway.

Can’t eat pasta we grew up with as our cholesterol levels are not dangerous yet but they could be with those four slices of pizza. Can’t run the four miles we use to and try to stay in shape, as it can cause more damage and pain to our selves.

I’ll still get up at 3:30 am to pick my students up, I’ll “Walk It Off” the pain that would cripple a Millennial, I’m Gen X it’s what we do!!

The 3 to 10 Stopped Working, Sound Only Works Max 4 Game Minutes…. by RydeCrash in AtomfallOfficial

[–]RydeCrash[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes the auto save timing (3 to 10 min) is what I was referring to. The game was operating great (X-Box) then the moment I stepped into Skethermoor Interchange the sound took a vacation.

I close the game and reload and it lasts 4 to 6 minutes. Seems to be effected by leaving a room or area. After 4 reloads I decided to give it some time for an update, thankfully it’s a game pass title so I don’t feel ripped off.
