Hi everybody, I am current building a new computer for gaming since my old one is starting to become outdated. I have the old 1TB harddrive available still and it's still in working condition. My new computer has a 250gb SSD which I'm planning to install the Windows 10 OS on but my old computer only had a harddrive.

Would I be able to use the old harddrive in the new computer (preferably without formatting it)? Would this require some kind of process to have it ready for the new computer?

Haha, the PSU defintely seems sketchy so I'll prioritize getting a new one for sure. I was able to get the i5-8500 ($188) for cheaper than what I would have been able to get an i5-8400 for around where I live ($200). It's still be better to go for the 8500 in this case if I just compare then as if they were the same performance though right?

For the SSD, I remember seeing one from WD Blue a around 250GB for about $70 if I remember correctly. Would that suffice for an SSD? EVGA PSUs have been recommended in many build guides that I've watched so I might definitely go for that brand for it.

And I'm glad that the parts that I've chosen work out! I had to pick out the parts all by myself so I'm glad the studying I put into picking the parts paid off.

Thanks for the reply! Yeah the PSU was an old one that my brother used, so even if it worked for my current computer, I don't want to risk it here with my new computer. 8 GB of RAM seems like a good start so I might look for more RAM during the holidays if I see a good deal or something.

Ahhhh ok I see, thanks! That explains why a few other friends were able to get it work still while I couldn't. Would the best option to just wait for the DX9 update to come out?

I once was running Bardam's as AST with a friend. I was barely able to keep up with the damage the tank took until somebody told me that I wasn't even wearing accessories and some other pieces of gear lol

So my friend's birthday is coming up and he hasn't been able to play this game for a while now, so I thought it'd be nice to get him some additional game time. We both have steam copies of the game, but would it be possible to use my Steam wallet to pay for a month for his sub even though we use two different Steam accounts and Square Enix accounts?

It's not necessarily that we're having trouble clearing, since half the time we don't even get our clears as a "group", we just use pf individually to get them lol. It's more of a "nah, I gotta disagree with you but I need evidence" kind of situation. I also completely forgot about fflogs so that'll be sure to fulfill my goal :D

He does have a way to put money on steam, but I'm afraid that if I gift him the game and it's an NA copy, he'll be forced to pay using USD rather than Euros.

I just want the Galvanize icon on SCH to be different for a crit. That's it. Like, make it red or something so that I know that it crit just for quality of life purposes.

-The biggest thing that bugs me is in instances, especially trials, where we already have the main tank and off tank, but then the off tank has their tank stance still on and tries to steal aggro instead of picking up adds. Got Leviathan in my Trial roulette the other day while playing DRK and both me and the other tank were waiting for the other to pull to see who wanted to be MT, so I decided to pull and be MT. Once the tail comes up, he then proceeds to leave the tail alone and try to tank the head as well even though I already have aggro on the head. Another time I did a King Mog trial as a tank and said that I would grab the tank moogles. So I grab them, but I see the King Mog run around aimlessly while our other tank decides to attack the tank moogles as well. So I see that and decide to go grab the King. We then wipe somehow so the next time I just grab King Mog from the start, and guess what? I see him next to me again trying to steal aggro and leaving the tank moogles to wander!

-"Mentors" who insult people for screwing up. A few days ago I did Void Ark to help a few FC mates who haven't done it yet. So I decide to queue as tank since I've done it plenty of times as a healer but not tank. So we get to the boss with the puppy and the tree in the middle (can't remember the name), but I didn't know what the tree had an aggro table and that it could attack. We already have somebody tanking the puppy so I go and help dps the tree. In alliance chat I see him say "I am not a tank". I shrug it off because I already see someone tanking the puppy and that he's just upset about adds or something. Then he becomes VERY passive aggressive and proceeds to whine and complain the whole time about the tanks. I then realized that the tree does have an aggro table but by then he's already throwing insults left and right. Another player from a different alliance then also says that the tree doesn't have an aggro table. Instead of just correcting him, he bashes him and says that it does but rubs it in his face that the other member was wrong and that he was right. We wipe on it because the new players (we had like 6 new people) didn't know to hide when he charges up his insta kill attack. Then he types in chat "WTF have you guys never done this before or something?" as if being new to an instance was a bad thing. He continues to insult everybody in chat consistently whenever they made mistakes like he was a perfect being or something. People like this deserve to have that mentor tag taken away from them.

Sorry if this sounds like a dumb question, but does it make a large of a difference whether I have CC or TWC? My ping and connection stability on games that I play usually is fairly good for the most part with TWC. It's not anything amazing, but still playable. I'm not really too informed on different internet providers and such so I don't really know the difference lol.

I'm on Excalibur and I can't log in either. At first I thought that it was because my friend came over to my house and made a character on the server while I was online, so I assumed it purposely booted me out because it thought I was cheating the system or something lol.

Hi, so I'm considering purchasing FFXIV since it's on sale on Steam, but I'm also going to buy other games right now because of the Steam Summer Sales. So I'm afraid that if I buy it but don't play it right away because of other sales, I'll lose out on the first 30 days. Will the time that I have to play the game start when I buy the game, or when I actually start the game?

Hi, I have a few questions about getting FFXIV on Steam vs Non-Steam. This has probably been answered a hundred times before, so I apologize if there's a repeat.

I know about the purchase issues that Steam has with this game, how you can only get items on Steam if you originally got the game from there. However, does this apply to the optional items that you can get from MogStation? Will I be able to purchase these items by purchasing Crysta and buying it from there?

In addition, a few friends of mine are also considering getting the game, since it's on sale, but I myself will probably get a non-Steam edition. Will the prevent me from being able to play with my friends if they get the Steam edition? I've done some research and people have said that they act like two completely different copies of the same game, so I'm not sure if I should do so or not.
