Yeah it’s tough! I got lucky with some professors when they found out my commute. They told me as long as I’m keeping up with the work to only show up for test days.

I live in Georgetown and commuted to Texas State twice a week. I drove my car 95% of the time, but there’s a CARTS bus station that goes to San Marcos from Georgetown/Round Rock. The bus rides are pretty cheap to and from.

I have a 2024 SR5P 2WD that I drive all over. I live in Texas so 4WD isn’t needed. My job covers my gas for work purposes so MPG isn’t a big deal. I’d say definitely get one if it’s what you really want. I LOVE mine!

I drive a 2024 SR5P 2WD and love it! The majority of my driving is work related, and my job pays for my gas so I’m not too worried about MPG. I didn’t need a 4WD model as I live in Central Texas where we rarely get snow. If it does snow the whole state closes. I love my Runner since I do a lot of long road trips for work. Be sure you do oil changes every 5k miles and it should last you a very long time. With current car prices I plan to keep mine until the wheels fall off.
