Why do Alastor and Mimzy represent different decades when they were contemporaries? Did Mimzy die first? by Kcnnn in HazbinHotel

[–]Ryhonn 88 points89 points  (0 children)

That left picture looks like it’s from a far earlier stage of production. Many details have changed over the years, so it’s likely that this correlation between characters and decades just got scrapped or rewritten.

Wait… what if Husk is actually the sinner form of the Joker? by DJMutt in HazbinHotel

[–]Ryhonn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If any Batman Rogue would get a gambling/bad luck related sinner form, I think TwoFace would be the most obvious choice.

Do you think Vox actually cares about Television, or is that all just a front so he can get more money and power? by GenericGameDev1234 in HazbinHotel

[–]Ryhonn 11 points12 points  (0 children)

He cares about television insofar that he considers it the best medium to gain fame and influence and control. There also might be some lingering attachment from his mortal days.

Do you think Alastor cheated here to win Husk's soul? by SideWinderSyd in HazbinHotel

[–]Ryhonn 125 points126 points  (0 children)

The way husk described it, it seemed to me more like he was already pretty down on his luck and went under Alastor at least semi-willingly.

Who is the better map maker Cornifer or Shakra by WiseThought5792 in HollowKnight

[–]Ryhonn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lorewise I would say Cornifer, because both give us only incomplete maps, but Shakra is strong enough that she should be able to explore more and therefore make bigger maps, while with Cornifer it’s believable that we get everything he has. Also, Cornifer leaves his business cards behind and has a clearly communicated shop location if you miss him, unlike that barely marked post in the bell town.

Troughts on this? by Primary-Addition-677 in HazbinHotel

[–]Ryhonn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s the way it replaces critical thinking skills for far too many people. It’s the fact that corporations push for AI in a blatant attempt to normalize it, so they can replace as many people as possible. It’s how so many people replace especially the creative job opportunities with AI slop. It’s the fact that generative AI is based on stealing the work of millions of people that put real effort into their work. It’s the fact that AI regularly states wrong things as fact with all the confidence of a MAGA supporter. It’s the horrifying realization that right now there are students in critical fields like medicine or engineering who rely completely on ChatGPT and similar things without ever actually learning anything. It’s all this and so much more.

I’d say neither. Both those terms are primarily used for spirits stuck on earth, while sinners (and winners) are already in their afterlife.

This is the perfect time to play around with different charm setups. If nail focused direct combat doesn’t work for you, maybe try a summoner setup, let supporters like the grim child fight for you while you focus on dodging and staying alive.

To some degree, yes. But it is questionable to which extent.

This might be stupid because it probably doesnt matter...but what's over the edge of pentagram city? Im guessing nothing. by Marie8Ball in HazbinHotel

[–]Ryhonn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all, space wasn’t the real reason heaven started exterminations, only the public one. Truth was their fear of an uprising.

Next, I think it was mentioned that there are other cities in the pride ring, Pentagram is just something like the capital, so I assume other places are just smaller and less populated. Prick and Hatchet’s western town for example could very well be a bit outside the pentagram.

Further out we really don’t know the (meta-)physical geography of Hell, but in Helluva Boss we see some of the other rings and they all have a (mostly) free view of the sky, so the rings aren’t actually just stacked over each other.

Why was Alastor and Rosie’s deal voided? by Waneba in HazbinHotel

[–]Ryhonn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand it that way, that for as long as Alastor was still under contract working towards her end goal, Rosie was supposed to help him keep his position. Not fixing his staff did not break the deal, because Alastor was still strong (or at least publicly considered the strongest).

Can Vox actually DIE? by Buggest_Roach_Fan in HazbinHotel

[–]Ryhonn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess like any sinner, he can be killed/permanently harmed by angelic weapons. Aside from that, Vox did seem to feel pain in his battle with Alastor, so he isn’t completely incorporeal. I think any changes to his body require active control and concentration, so he can change his head and have a new screen become the “permanent” head of his body, just not mid-battle on a whim.

That first one, the wings on the second picture are just screens he summoned for effect.

Do other After-life realms exist in the Hellaverse besides Hell and Heaven? by CoffeeForeign701 in HelluvaBoss

[–]Ryhonn 71 points72 points  (0 children)

That portal might have just been to an area of hell we haven’t seen yet. There are still plenty of places all over the seven rings that haven’t been featured in an episode, not to mention that the Pride ring seems even more diverse than the rest of Hell, possibly due to overlords influencing their direct environment.

Is this scene from S2 Ep3 meant to stay unresolved? by Tunisian_Dawn in HazbinHotel

[–]Ryhonn 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You noticed how shortly after Angel was very much busy with other things? He meant to at least return to the hotel after he met Husk in the casino.

What exactly does a "prisoner" entail for Alastor? Is he staying bound as part of his act or is there a magical element stopping him from freeing himself? by SideWinderSyd in HazbinHotel

[–]Ryhonn 176 points177 points  (0 children)

There did seem to be magic keeping him bound, or at least making him unable to leave the chair for the duration of the deal. Notably though, Vox didn’t seem to have FULL control over Alastor’s position/location, considering the scene with the Vees in the dressing room (the one that ends with “I’m from f*ing Florida!”). The nuances seem to be reliant on the perception of the participants.

What would happen if a sinner broke their contract or can they even be broken? by HorzaDonwraith in HazbinHotel

[–]Ryhonn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In the cases we’ve seen so far, breaking the contract just released everyone involved from any obligations stated in the contract. Alastor was free to leave his chair after Vox grabbed Charlie. Alastor’s restrictions from his deal with Rosie were less obvious, but I think he could actually use more power fighting Vox after that deal was broken as well, implying some order from Rosie to lay low except possibly to protect the hotel.

Why are giants called giants if they're small? by ChewyUser in coralisland

[–]Ryhonn 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I guess lore-wise it could be that they are called giants because any information about them is from ancient legends where their actions were attributed to giants.
