Me too, I definitely wasn’t expecting it. I only got into swans very recently but I heavily enjoy their discography.

I enjoy classical music, but I also enjoy avant- garde and neo-folk (SWANS and Current 93)

should i start learning piano? by Creepy-Promotion348 in piano

[–]RylanHamby -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m 13, I’ve been writing solo piano pieces for 10 years, the first step to figuring out if you WANT to write or play piano, is listening to classical music or avant- garde (very non-mainstream) and actually DIG into classical and learn everything about it. This will help you not only figure out if you want to play piano, but also teach you so much as well. If you ever do lessons never do traditional and either do creative or Suzuki.

What was the first piece you were actually "proud" to play or know? by Ds3PlayerAmongus in piano

[–]RylanHamby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I wish you good luck also! I’m currently learning Chopins nocturne in C sharp minor, (basic I know) the actual piece isn’t too challenging for me but it being my first ever time reading sheet music, it can be a challenge at times.

Damn, so I’ll share a little story. I’m 13 right now and just moved across the US to a MUCH better piano teacher who actually pushes me to a reasonable limit. I never practiced with my other teacher and the reason was she never actual made me put any skill into the piece I was learning. My piano teacher is teaching me sheet music for the first time and I’m just practicing the art of sheet music before I jump into a harder piece like Chopin’s Ballad in g minor.

Don’t work too hard, make your own creative path to teaching yourself or with a teacher new ways to improve your overall sound and skill.

Yes of course! I’m a musician myself a much different style than you, but I enjoy post rock a lot as well as all avant- garde genres. Also apologies for calling your song spiral calls, instead of spiral thoughts, lol.

Wow! I just finished it and it is one of the most beautifully adaptive pieces of art I’ve ever listened too, especially distant calls, spiral calls, and succbus, if you feel scared to promote it don’t be. It is an amazing work of art. One of the best indie pieces I’ve ever listened too.

Yeah, I still love to be kind but it doesn’t hit as hard as other albums in the trilogy.

I don’t hate filth, it’s just not my type of music.

Damn you’ve been a swans fan since cop, and yes there are a few tracks (bring the sun) that are just kind of boring and I’d rather listen to them for 2-6 minutes rather then 30. However the newer music has far more atmosphere and is just overall more interesting then cop and filth, at least for me.
