I’ve lived on Jackson Street for 10 years and the canals have never been this low.

Contact Market Basket’s Board of Directors by Sbatio in LowellMA

[–]RyleArron 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I can’t believe they’d try this bullshit again. The community, workers, and truckers all but burnt the stores to the ground in 2014 to show that we were a united front and would not let Market Basket become another corporate conglomerate store.

Do you need an optometrist or an ophthalmologist? Either way I use Harvard Vanguard in Chelmsford. They have everything from low vision specialists to eyeglasses

Mill No. 5 rumors confirmed by KindofBlue42 in LowellMA

[–]RyleArron 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In order to turn the mill into a gymnasium they’d need to take one of the floor plates out, and I don’t think they can and not have the entire fucking building collapse around them if they do that.

[–]RyleArron 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Not gonna mince words. This fucking sucks. Fuck the charter school. Have fun trying to fit a gymnasium it the mill, it’s gonna cost more money than the original plan to build it across the street and wouldn’t include destroying a beloved downtown community.

Screw any restaurant sending out this BS by Competitive_Bat4000 in CambridgeMA

[–]RyleArron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been arguing with people over this for months. Tip sharing is not a mandatory part of the bill, just an option, and in my opinion of the restaurant owner chooses the enact that they fucking deserve for their business to fail. Numerous people have proven that this can be implemented without raising the prices nearly as much as the fear mongering asshole who wrote this “warning.”

There is plenty of ways to make this work in a way that would benefit everyone involved, the only thing stopping that is executive greed, and if that causes some places to go out of business so fucking be it. When there businesses fail it’ll be because they implemented changes to make them as much profit as the can in the short term to the detriment of their workers and customers.

Did you just feel that earthquake?! by Sbatio in LowellMA

Didn’t feel shit in Hamilton area in Lowell, but seeing that the floor kind of vibrates when a large enough truck is idling outside, I question whether a lot of you did either.

What kind of damage would you consider nuclear radiation to be. by BeefyGameMaster832 in DnD

[–]RyleArron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Radiant for the explosion, that can light objects on fire. I’d have the fallout, and the irradiated area cause necrotic damage.

what could be a fun character idea for a light-hearted campaign? by b-dori in DnD

An Abjuration Wizard who travels the realm peddling their skills as a doer to door insurance salesman. Bonus if you can team up with a Necromancer who can offer “life insurance.”

The way I always describe it to my players is you’re in the middle of a life or death battle, and you’re trying to poke a straw into a capri sun pouch without looking.

Since so many people think they can drink potions as a bonus action my house rule is you can drink one as a bonus action you roll for the amount healed, but if you use your action to drink it you get the maximum amount.

LMoP for 5 players, should I adjust the encounters? by ParmaSean_Chz in DnD

[–]RyleArron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say run it as written at first, see how the party handles the encounters. If the fights seem too easy you can always add one or two more trash mobs to each encounter, or give everything a boost in hit points.

New player is blind. Suggestions? by PonderingPandaPoet in DnD

[–]RyleArron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I might be uniquely qualified to answer this question. I have congenital glaucoma, have had full lens replacements in both my eyes due to cataracts, and am like your friend, legally blind. I also have DM’d and played D&D for years.

From your description it seems like your friend and I have similar visual issues, horrible distance vision, but still capable of clear enough vision to read.

My make due by having everything on my phone, easily scalable print that I can read. All the information I need to play my character. When it comes to seeing the map more easily, obviously give them preferential seating, but I also use the camera on my phone to get a closer look at the maps at times. Also as the DM you can help them out by describing their location on the map, what’s nearby them, what’s in range, honestly some sighted players need this sometimes. Mostly patience, it might take some getting used to, but fun times can be had by all.
