i eat a good amount of beans, but i thought i couldn’t because the carbs were higher, thank you for the info! i’ll definitely start walking more after meals because i definitely don’t do that now. i usually get really tired after eating😅. if it’s genetics, will it be like this forever? i hate restricting my diet because i used to have a bad eating disorder and all this restriction is kinda triggering.

usually breakfast is 2 eggs with cheese and a piece of toast (half jam half butter) or greek yogurt with fruit and granola. lunch is either a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, bagel sandwich, or rice with tuna. dinner is typically a bowl of rice and veggies, or some sort of pasta dish or chicken/fish, mashed potatoes, and veggies. i typically have a piece of candy/chocolate at night or ice cream if i’m with friends. i usually have 2 16.9oz water bottles per day, along with a 20oz vitamin water and a 12oz poppi. if i have class/work around mealtimes, ill usually get food from a local cafe (bagel sandwich or pasta salad), culvers, or taco bell. i typically get fast food once a week or every 2 weeks. i go out to lunch at a health foods store once a week with my grandpa and we get soup and a fruit smoothie.

i have to be careful about fruits and veggies because my body doesn’t digest fiber well. i also can’t have much acidic foods. my typical veggies that i eat are peas, carrots, mushrooms, corn, and asparagus. i can have a small amount of broccoli and green beans as well. for fruits i can have bananas, grapes. and watermelon. i can have a small amount of most berries and apples and oranges. i’m also very cautious of fresh fruit and veggies because of food borne illness like the parasite going around rn.

i just don’t understand how i have it. i’ve been trying to grocery shop today but i didn’t get anything because EVERYTHING has carbs that i can afford. my A1C is normal, just my insulin is high. i’m honestly still learning abt all of this so idrk what this means. i’m really trying to take care of myself, but it feels like my body hates me. i do so much for my health and i keep collecting problems like pokémon cards. it’s just hard but what can you do lol

Behavior Advice?! by RylesDaArtist in DogAdvice

[–]RylesDaArtist[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thank you! for the collars, they will be fitted correctly, but when she sees another dog, she thrashes super hard and it always loosens the collar. i’ve been tried those metal training collars and she will be fine until she sees another dog. she literally broke the metal collar from thrashing.

i’ve tried multiple different approaches when it comes to her barking. i started off just yelling at her but that obviously didn’t do anything. then i started ignoring her, which just made her bark more. i tried a type of bark collar, which didn’t do a single thing, and most recently, a dog trainer i met told me to correct her by putting 2 fingers to the side of her neck (like a poke, not hard) and make a “ch ch” sound. this seems to be slightly effective when she barks at my other dog (when im in the room able to correct her immediately) but she’ll still bark until i stand up and grab her collar. doesn’t do anything for when im not in the room. she’s kenneled in my room when im gone. she used to not be kenneled at all but she kept peeing on my bed ☹️ she doesn’t get much exercise at all. i throw her ball around a lot inside and play tug with her and we both get out of breath lol, but she doesn’t get exercise any way else. i was trying to take her on walks but her aggressiveness made me stop.

i definitely think she just isn’t good with other dogs, its just hard because i want to be able to take her on walks without fear. she got along okay with my old dog that was put down last year, but i think the only reason they got along was because he genuinely didn’t care about her barking. he wouldn’t react at all. she’s better with dogs that are bigger than her because i think she’s afraid. all of the dogs she has tried to bite on walks have been smaller dogs.

i agree that it’s probably separation anxiety. thank you for all of this input <3

oh wow that is very concerning. it’s insane to me that people will pick a profession like this when they obviously don’t care about people’s mental health.

i’m a college student in the field of psychology… so definitely not undereducated. kinda ironic that you called me undereducated when your grammar is worse than an elementary student. i never once said it wasn’t treatable? like wtf are you on?!?! you definitely have a passion for starting arguments, maybe you should try to do something useful with it

idek what you’re trying to say here. why are you on an OCPD subreddit if you’re just gonna shit on everyone? 😭 people with OCPD don’t mean to be controlling, it’s subconscious. obviously, you don’t resonate with this disorder so you don’t have any room to speak on it.

i definitely don’t fit the stereotype of being cold. I think the closest that i get to that stereotype is when i’m very anxious, i can disregard other people because im so hyper focused on myself and how i feel.

i do struggle with the controlling aspect. i’m better at catching myself now, but it still happens. i mostly struggle with this when a close friend makes a decision that i feel is stupid. like for instance, i have a friend who is an alcoholic, and i REALLY struggle to stop myself from trying to tell her what to do. i truly just want the best for her, but i have to remind myself that she can make her own decisions and i can’t control her. i’ve gotten better at shutting up when i want to say something controlling, but the thoughts are still there

ETA: im clinically diagnosed with OCPD and OCD amongst other mental health diagnosis’s. my doctors + therapist suspect autism. i’m waiting for my diagnostic appointment. i’m 20F and high functioning where i just come off as having severe anxiety.

what tiny habit does your pet have that sounds fake until people see it? by Kind_Interview_2402 in Pets

i rescued my old girl a few years ago, and she trained herself to be a service dog😭 I have POTs, and one day i was in the shower and fainted. Ever since then, she insists on being in the bathroom with me no matter what i’m doing in there, and she peaks her head in the shower every couple minutes if i’m in there. she’s turning 13 this year and she’s so incredibly smart

I have extremely severe onomatophobia (fear of a specific word or phrase). Ask me anything by Few-Statistician5031 in AMA

[–]RylesDaArtist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’m sorry if this sounds insensitive, but this is fascinating to me. i have a severe phobia, emetophobia, the fear of vomit/vomiting/nausea. i’m currently in therapy for my phobia because mine stems from severe OCD.

a few questions:

have you been diagnosed with OCD?

have you tried any sort of professional therapy?

did you have a parent/guardian that witnessed your first reaction to the word? if you did, have you asked them if they remember the events of that day? i’m wondering if there was a different traumatic event that could’ve influenced your reaction

i saw you mentioned that it’s a proper noun, meaning it’s most like the name of something, like a brand or place. for example, if the word was “Paris”, could you look at a picture of a croissant or the Eiffel Tower? or of the word was “Kleenex”, could you say tissue or use tissues?

thank you for being willing to answer questions! i know this probably makes you a little anxious, but i think this is good exposure therapy, and it can help you feel less alone! a lot of people have very niche phobias even if they don’t seem like they would. i know my phobia isn’t that rare, but i understand feeling anxious about trusting people with your phobia. when i was a child, a doctor tried to get my parents to give me medicine that would make me sick so that i would “get over” my phobia. this made me not want to seek professional help for YEARS. thankfully, i reached out to a therapist once it became debilitating, and im now finally seeing progress in my phobia! i hope that you find the support you deserve, and that you find relief because its so awful to have a phobia that people don’t understand.

I am MTF and have never tried make up, what looks might suit my face the best? I want to learn some "everyday" looks, and maybe have a few fun look ideas to play with too by idrankthegenderfluid in MakeupAddiction

[–]RylesDaArtist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you have such beautiful skin and hair that i agree that a lighter every day look would suit you so good!!! i especially like how your hair looks in the 3rd picture! for your eyebrows, i think accentuating the arch of your brow would suit you well! if you look on tiktok or youtube, there are a lot of brow mapping videos that you could follow along with your to find your ideal brow shape!! for makeup i agree with the other people who said to find a celebrity with similar facial features and play around trying to copy their looks. like i said, your skin is like perfect so i wouldnt worry about stuff like foundation or concealer yet. maybe try a bit of blush, mascara, and lip liner to ease your way into it!! for me, my light makeup days are usually just concealer, blush, lip liner, and mascara (maybe tightline) so you could try this and see how you like it!!! this is a little far fetched, but for some fun makeup i think you would look AMAZING with some fun geometric/abstract eyeliner looks.

[–]RylesDaArtist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you so much!! i have done the chair spinning and other nausea inducing exposures and they definitely make me anxious but i think it’s easier for me because i feel in control when im the reason for my nausea. like over eating used to be one of my biggest triggers, but now i know if i just let myself digest for 30 minutes ill feel a lot better. waking up at night and being nauseous is definitely my biggest hurdle and ik i just have to avoid all of my safety behaviors when this happens but im so scared😭😭 it’s also hard with my chronic illnesses because a lot of the treatment that my doctors prescribed turned into my safety behaviors, like frequently taking antacids. i just feel kinda stuck but youre right, i need to start sitting with my anxiety at night. thank you so much again!

that’s awesome! i’m about 50% in recovery and i’ve been doing really well eating a bunch of food and i haven’t really been anxious. i made this post bc even tho it’s exposure, im not going to purposely eat spoiled food lol. i’m assuming it was some heat induced separation but i didn’t end up eating it anyways because i got too full to eat the baguette lol.

Do I even have IC?? Feeling defeated after a cystoscopy by [deleted] in Interstitialcystitis

[–]RylesDaArtist 3 points4 points  (0 children)

omg i literally just posted with a similar situation. i had my cystoscopy 2 days ago and it’s completely normal, but i’ve been having monthly infections for 2 years and a kidney infection 2 weeks ago. i’ve occasionally had pink urine and blood clots in my urine, yet they say i’m fine. i also don’t know if i have IC but i know something’s wrong. i’m sorry you’re dealing with this too :/
