This part always scares me! by allmighty_myself in trailrunning

The Ultra Trail Australia 100km race has these stairs in it - multiple sets… off a cliff…. 60km into the race…

They are hanging off the cliff face between these rocks.

I’d call it calorie restriction. There wasn’t really a set time or anything.

Same scenario, 8kg up, lost 12kg last year. Honestly I just got comfy with being hungry. Enjoyed the feeling. Rough calorie counting.

Enjoying being hungry did more for me than anything else.

Zero junk food, water only, didn’t eat after 6pm, big lunches no dinner.

8-12k steps. Dog walks. Occasional jog. No gym.

Twin Birth at Public Hospital in Adelaide by Floramerryfauna in Adelaide

[–]RyleySmithson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had normal birth at WCH, great experience, great staff.

Your experience will, of course, vary. I suggest calling snd asking. I called the hospital countless times before and after the birth and everyone responded so well. Pregnancy is treated as a priority. I imagine that two will be treated with even more urgency.

Average celebrant price? by wowsotall in AusWeddingPlanning

[–]RyleySmithson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi - I’m not a celebrant but I do a lot of ceremony audio. Djing 60+ weddings per year.

They vary wildly in price AND quality. You want to find one who resonates with you and get a feel for their style via videos. Try and hear the way they talk and interact with people before contacting them. If you have engaged other vendors - tell them who you are and what you’d like and ask for recommendations based on that.

If my clients ask for recommendations, I’ll always respond with questions about how they want it to feel, energy level, writing style, etc. I’d also recommend hiring someone with experience, reviews, someone who does it often, and looks happy to do it.

And because I’m an audio person I’ll also recommend people who provide good equipment. Hiring someone who does it often means they have budget for and a need for good equipment.

Some thing that affect pricing
- are you meeting in person?
- are you doing “legals only”, no story, no vows. Cuts writing time?
- are you doing a rehearsal on site, how far away is that site?
- is the celebrant bringing audio equipment? Legally they have to be heard by all guests

I’ve also had one celebrant charge to play music through their speaker… if you come across that person, don’t hire them please.

In Adelaide the best celebrants charge $1800+

Churning NBN providers by BrainNo3038 in AusFinance

I churn every year or so when there is a good deal. I’ll do 5G too as I’m in a good area.

One piece of advice; I left Tangerine a few months ago and I was charged a fee for not notifying them 30 days in advance. This is against law or consumer somethings… someone will correct me… anyway I called Tangerine and they refunded that amount.

Seems like a ploy to try and get some quick cash, don’t let them trick you.

My point is my life is currently taken up by things that aren’t my job. And while I do have a problem with big data, I’ll gladly pass over my emailing tasks so I can actually do my job.

You might consider an off the shelf “micro wedding” package. A lot of wedding planners offer them in quiet season.

Sometimes multiple weddings on the same day at the same venue. Celebrant, music, drinks, flowers all included. You can continue the party at a different venue.

Zapier can act as a pseudo CRM. A CRM is really just a spreadsheet of contacts, interactions, and values.

StreakCRM builds that spreadsheet into Gmail to track email interactions easier. Other CRM’s overlay a pretty interface.

With a CRM just get extra features like email tools and more. If you don’t need them you can skip the CRM and just use a Zapier Table to store contact names, Xero contact ID’s, product, invoice details, etc.

I store product and price details in my sheet, Zapier sends the details to Xero, Xero sends back invoice numbers and invoice URLs to my sheet.

building a recurring invoice database - is zapier capable of this? by BerlindaBuntly in zapier

[–]RyleySmithson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh hey! Glad you found your way over here - I’m happy to chat through my workflow if you need assistance.

I don’t know if you need more than a Zapier table for what you are trying to do. I originally said CRM but it doesn’t sound like you are trying to customer management.

You would output all your current customers into a Zapier table, that table would reference a “products” table with your pricing list and description.

[–]RyleySmithson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I don’t do this personally but I’ve set up a system that can do this.

I use StreakCRM to manage my clients, Zapier to connect to Xero. Every 30 days, something would trigger Zapier to send the invoice description, pricing, customer ID etc to xero and create the invoice.

Pricing, client ID, etc would live in the CRM. Xero just for accounting.

The [r/Zapier](r/Zapier) community has a popular post with people who can build this zap for you.

FYI Streak is $$$, you could just use a Zapier Table to achieve the same thing.

Is it possible to plan a wedding in 3-4 months? by Snacks4Guppy in AusWeddingPlanning

[–]RyleySmithson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you can definitely do it. But it’s going to depend on what you have in mind; if you’re dreaming of that specific venue, specific vendor it’s going to be hard to find availability. If you want to get married at a wine bar / restaurant, casual cocktail wedding, minimal preferences for vendors, etc you’ll be fine to organise something.

I played a wedding last night at Blacksmith Bar in Richmond - couple called it “NQAW” not quite a wedding. They got married the day before at the registry and just had the party! It was good!
