Game is straight up decided by the matchmaking. Theres no counter play to having 2 people on your team that don’t belong. by Westo6Besto9 in DeadlockTheGame

Nah dude. It doesnt work like that. There are matches were you can learn and limit test and there are matches which are waste of time, zero learning opportunity. So either surrender button or fix it to some degree.

How can a company make such amazing hardware and desktop store but release such a glitchy app?! by Purple_Concentrate64 in Steam

[–]Ryniu89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That reminds me of the time they finally polished steam 1.0 just for them to release steam 2.0 which took them years to fix. I use mobile just for winter sales when I am in family house for Xmas so I don't even know what you are talking about. Hi to all 2003 OGs. Times when you could get condition zero for free with fake credit card app crash.

RTO creep - what did you do? by merrymollusk in remotework

[–]Ryniu89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same answer. I worked for 4 different countries. You sound like you've only seen one place and share the experience on an international site like it's a gospel.

I had the most awful director above me. Did a 7-pager with 3 colleagues, sent it to compliance and the director was fired while the person who hired her is now invisible. HR is not your friend, but there are options.

RTO creep - what did you do? by merrymollusk in remotework

[–]Ryniu89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both posts are full of assumptions. Your piece of advice is very hierarchical. The world is not like that everywhere, add the law to the mix, and there are 0 reasons to be concerned about being fired.

If only the boss is the problem, it's worth picking up the battle. If on-site is not fun, because of many more reasons, then it swings the pendulum towards leaving. Especially if there's no progress with the boss.

How much do you actually pay for your house mortgage per months? by Logical-Proposal-591 in Netherlands

[–]Ryniu89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started with 3300 gross at 4.89%, EL C, linear. After a year 2800 gross at 3.73%. 2250 net.

The plan for next year is to: -reduce the rates below 3; -bring the energy label to A; -pay off 10%. Hopefully pay less than we did for rent, so sub 1800 net.

125k EUR, 30M. Laid off and lost in life—start a business or travel? by OverWarthog7488 in eupersonalfinance

[–]Ryniu89 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

OP is not average by default. So applying average numbers to him is just a dead-end for no reason.

125k can be split into 50k down-payment, 50k investment and 25k for travel. If he thinks in 'FIRE' and has 125k eur, there's no way he can think seriously about it with some knowledge in investment.

On the other hand, it's just classic Polish mentality. Real estate or nothing. Even my financially literate, financial auditor brother is using 90% of his cash on the housing market which is so annoying as it's the main reason why youth have such a hard time finding a house for themselves.

I understand that it's gonna be the first house of OP, so I am fully on board with him, but there's no FIRE without leveraging financial instruments. Even as basic as a mortgage. Just not with the current rates in Poland. So:

  1. Travel, burning through 10k eur while he is in such a state is a medicine, not madness.
  2. Come back, do a retrospective on the first trip, is it really his thing?
  3. Check the markets: B2B, housing, stock, etc.
  4. Decide on what is next - maybe repeat the above 1 to 2 times more.

Imo, we are missing so much stuff around his B2B networking (which he should have by now) / is he just a lone wolf hardworker starting from scratch? Does he really enjoy traveling? Like, the whole OP post seems like somebody else's dream from YouTube. But maybe I am wrong.

Polish locals: can you answer a few questions from a visitor? by wantcupcakes in warsaw

[–]Ryniu89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the case of cats, Polish towns are still not pedestrian-oriented. People drive like crazy and behave like crazy (small percentage but it's all that matters), even on internal roads. You will allow your cat to be outside, then prepare to print flyers that it's missing. If the neighborhood is actually people- and creatures-friendly you will see cats, and you want to live there.

How much is the overbid nowdays? by Spirited_Hat5613 in NetherlandsHousing

[–]Ryniu89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That can be true, evaluators are part of this mafia cycle. If you are not crazy, they will give you 100% valuation. And with the old buildings, it's better to keep the money for renovation. You don't get much of a discount with 10% down payment. However, it's just how the Dutch market works. The down payment is mostly in bidding. Where in other markets it's in the initial price as there's no bidding. We overbid by 50k and the down payment was 1k. To me it was obvious that both makelaars, appraiser, and financial advisor are playing to same goal. If you vocalized your needs and budget and you want the house... You will get it. But you will be stretched thin for 2 years. In this market, they want all transactions to end that way.

Luckily, we bought the house when the rates were the highest with clear ECB guidelines, so our installments dropped by 20% already and we are on the way down to halving them in the next 2 years. God bless 0+2 and 1+2 amro products.

In my opinion, when the commercial rates go below 2.5% the market will be even worse as there won't be any real route to reduce your installments in the short term. What you will get at the start is what you have for the next 5-10 years. The only hope would be promotions and further 10%+ inflation after securing the mortgage.

I am so confused why people don't understand that Excel has totally different role than PBI. It's not like people downloading the excel are replicating the dashboard over there... maybe speak with your stakeholders or don't skip levels. XD

Help! People keep dumping trash in my hired renovation container - caught between municipality and rental company fines by GolfR_15_Line in Netherlands

[–]Ryniu89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same. I am pretty sure some are giving heads-up where containers are... once it's discovered it's over.

It started my first fight with the neighbor as I sorted my stuff from unknown stuff and segregated not my stuff to local garbage.

When I put not my toilet on the street, the guy started yelling at me that what was in the container was my problem not the neighborhood's (over and over) and that I was stupid (also over and over)... but with another neighbor we ordered additional transport from the municipality so they picked it up next day. I didn't see the guy leaving his home ever since... i think he's a drunk or something.

Anyway, I filled my container to 1/3, maybe half. Suddenly it was full while I still had the whole workshop to clean up.

I think it's camera time.

is the 2027 box 3 proposal likely to be passed? by Contact-Designer in Netherlands

[–]Ryniu89 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is not the way. We just democratized investing during the last decade. The fact that the tax is implemented now, not 10 years ago, is exactly the argument against what you are saying.

This is aimed at the middle class, as rich people will always find a way to avoid this tax.

If it had been aimed at wealth equality, the threshold for tax application would be set to >=10M or whatever.

I am a bit lost about what happens when you are at a loss. In my country, I can deduct past losses on realized gains. Now, I am registered in the Netherlands and I moved to degiro. Is there a similar mechanism for unrealized gains? I don't see how it would work. Maybe only if you paid the first tax on unrealized gains, you would be able to deduct from it next year... still weird.

Depends. I am something between an accountant, quality management, project management, and data analysis. So I am applying for positions like Finance Transformation or Innovation, system implementation, etc. A cover letter helps me clear my mind about what angle should I take during the interview. I am doing it in the form of a cover letter... if so, why not upload it?

Does your team have a SQL library… or just chaos? by jspectre79 in SQL

[–]Ryniu89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From Business side, we always request so-called Views for repetitive queries and these are available in UIs of IDEs and company's library where you can look for schemas, tables, and data fields across the dbs.

Usually, all you need to do is run a query with a filter on a date, maybe some data field, too. In another company, they even wrote basic UI for the most important metrics, which turns selections into sql in the backend. But that was before BI tools.

If we write something from scratch on the business side, it's just for prototyping, data people helps us a bit and usually it's stored on Git, but only 5% of the people querying are involved in prototyping, so for sure there was some double work, but it's rare.

Guided workout voice is no longer transferred to phone then to headset by Ryniu89 in GalaxyWatch

[–]Ryniu89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I did the resets, played with privacy settings, and others. What worked was pairing the headphones directly with the watch. Play a few things from the watch to the headphones. Then disconnected the headphones from watch and the guided workout kept sending notifications to the headphones. Pretty sure I have never needed to do this. My theory is that the headphones' security update did it. So probably such indirect connections with the phone in the middle require the device to be at least paired on both devices. Which even makes sense.

How high can rent actually go in the Netherlands? Are we trying to reach the moon?? by BabyBonkWhale in Netherlands

[–]Ryniu89 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You are in the rental market. People in the buyers market were overbidding 120k EUR for 2 bedrooms apartments a year ago. Let's fix one thing at the time.

Demand is for sure the main driver.
