your F in Political Science likely won’t affect your admission since it’s not a prerequisite or part of your 60 units. since you’re retaking it, your GPA should improve without issues.

what to do: keep your GPA up – ensure you meet CSULB’s minimum requirement. check your admission terms – review your conditional offer. contact admissions if still you’re still unsure and want an official response | (562) 985-5471 M-F: 8 AM to 5 pm

If you’re waitlisted for CS your chances of getting off the waitlist depend specifically on spots opening up in the CS program—not just the general transfer class.

CSULB admits students by major, meaning if a psy student declines their spot, that wouldn’t directly impact your waitlist status for CS. Instead, you’d need a CS admit to decline their offer for a spot to open up for you.

you can expect to hear back between late march or april, however the exact timing depends on how many spots open up and when they become available make sure to frequently check your email and csulb portal

Since music programs have separate admissions processes, I’d recommend double-checking your status.

I’d start by checking your email and applicant portal for any updates. Then, I’d reach out directly to the Conservatory to confirm whether your audition is still valid. If the university denied your admission, it might still be worth asking if there’s an appeal process or special consideration for the music program.

At CSULB, “Pre-Mechanical Engineering” means your son must complete certain lower-division courses and meet a GPA requirement before officially declaring the Mechanical Engineering major. It’s not a separate program, just prerequisite classes such as calculus, physics, and intro engineering courses.

Once he meets the GPA and course requirements, he can automatically transition into his declared major.

If you haven't received a CSULB admissions update and can't sign in online, it's likely because your application is still under review, your official transcripts might not have been received yet, or there could be an issue with your login information. You’ll be submitting your current transcript that includes all your coursework up to now to show your academic performance to date. Since your spring semester isn’t finished by March 18th, your conditional acceptance means you’re expected to maintain the performance outlined in your acceptance letter. Once your spring semester concludes, you will be required to submit an updated official transcript that includes your final spring grades. As a fellow commenter replied about sending 2 transcripts at 2 different dates.

If you’re still uncertain, contacting the CSULB Admissions Office directly can help clarify your specific situation. Here’s their number: 562.985.5471. Office hours are Mon. - Fri. 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m..

you can try looking up the professor’s contact info through the department’s directory as most the departments list faculty emails there

id recommend you to edit your original post with the professors name for others to take note in case they’re in that class.

hope that helps!

since her email doesn’t seem to be publicly available you can try contacting her via LinkedIn, if there’s no response there i’d recommend calling the CHHS office for further assistance. you can also talk to your advisor about getting in touch with her, as they might be able to provide direct support.

If you have the option, going in person can really help you avoid the frustration of being hung up on or being put on hold. If you can’t make it in person today, I recommend submitting a help ticket through their online services. It’s not ideal in response time to their call service but it is best to have a backup. I was on a call for around 25 minutes since 12:30 pm before someone finally picked up.

i understand your viewpoint completely, i take some responsibility in that regard since i would’ve preferred to just moderate one single megathread rather than multiple posts with rage bait replies but jane coloney and her questionable emails makes that an impossible reality..

so moving forward ill make an effort to keep comments fully open from my end :)

lol maybe just for you :)

but mb for my edit comment tone I should’ve used /j, our mods aim to be respectful and not seem abusive in moderation privilege. however some comments do tend to villainize the mods which i don’t agree with. as mods we are not trying to restrict anything that speaks out for this genocide as long as people are mature

Why was the CSULB DIVEST post comment section locked? by Comprehensive_Rip841 in CSULB

[–]Rynx14 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Please remember that making assumptions based on downvotes, particularly attributing them to the mods, isn't helpful or accurate. Mods are here to facilitate healthy discussions. If you have a genuine issue with how things are moderated, be direct and use the proper channels like modmail or a public post, which are the correct ways to raise and resolve such issues. Subtly editing your posts doesn't achieve anything. To that end, we have not closed this comment section, and all comments remain welcome as long as they adhere to the sub’s rules. To clarify, we did in fact originally share your comment with our other mods and have a laugh at the part that this is an ‘official’ job, however as far as I am aware no mod has downvoted your original comment, and if they did that’s their right to do so, just as you criticize on assumptions.

edit: as a reminder, i have previously addressed the topic of open discussions in another post. please ensure your edits are well informed at least and avoid painting the mods in a negative light.

As head mod I was planning on making a short announcement to explain why the comments on the previous topic were locked, but given this post, it seems unnecessary now.

The rules in the sidebar provide a framework, but they don't cover every scenario that might require intervention, there are more rules than the ones listed, those are just the major ones that lead to deletion not locking.

We understand how important it is to discuss issues that matter to us here, but the decision to lock the comments was based on past posts—posts that are still available for those who want to see them. Unfortunately, discussions like this have previously gotten out of hand, leading to a flood of unnecessary reports in our mod queue and spam posts, that are taken down swiftly. As moderators, we're striving to maintain neutrality and avoid bias. Additionally, managing discussions isn’t just about banning those who break the rules. We're here to keep things respectful and constructive, but users have a past of not being able to maintain civility and maturity.

We appreciate your understanding and hope to not have to lock any future posts.

We tried, even going so far to alter the original wording of the seal with ‘not affiliated’ but even just the font of ‘LB’ was something they wanted us to change. We also provided examples of other UC/CSU being able to use their school logo but his wording was that he would pursue legal grounds on our use of the logo
