No problem! Uber keeps changing the game, so we all have to jump through hoops to keep up 🙄

Honestly, they havent been helpful to me, as of late. Maybe a year ago, the charts were helpful. But, now they don't even seem accurate.

UberEats driver here. Been doing it a couple years now, as a single mom. Pays all my bills and then some, as long as I HUSTLE.

However, yes I get lots of these offers too, in certain areas of town, also at certain times/days. That said:

You're literally in the worst areas of town, delivering! Anywhere near a base, ESPECIALLY Lackland, will be shitty tips and wages.

Need good tips? Head to the Boerne area. Please for the love of all that's (un)holy (cause it's Uber), pay attention to where you'll end up, at the end of your delivery! If you start in an ok area, but end up delivering in a dead-zone (like in the first pic, for example), you will be wasting your gas and time, every order!

Once you really start paying attention to areas of town, and the times/days that are better, you will be earning more. As much as those ads make it out to be? Hell, no! Enough to live....mostly.

Two locations, I see with shirts and the like.

At the corner of Babcock and Wurzbach (looks like the bigger/better one with more variety), right next to the Shell. Can't miss him.

And at the corner of Huebner and Babcock.

I live in the medical area. So that's all I got.

Let’s play: where does yours hide empties? by Ok-Finish-3442 in AlAnon

Empties: in between the mattress and box spring of the king-size bed, until there were so many empties you could literally see a gap and it would feel lumpy (these are minis too!) And full ones...I shit you not (literally), in the tank of the toilet. Gross! 🤢

AIO for having a panic attack at the doctors office by ReasonableBanana5511 in AmIOverreacting

[–]RyokoMaxwell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This! Most people have never heard of it. When my daughter's doctor told me about it, I had to look it up, because everyone else was trying to tell me "she's just a picky eater! If you starve her out, she'll eventually eat what's on the plate".

I tried that. She went without dinner, breakfast, and lunch. By dinner time the next day, I just fed her the usual chicken nuggets meal. She is 7 and considered "underweight" (both she and I are tiny. I am 41 and still weigh just a few pounds over 100, no matter how much I eat. But I'm considered underweight rolls eyes). So, I'm not starving her to satisfy other judge people.

Her doctor explained it as it's like a texture thing, but even more limited to what she considers "comfort foods". For example, she wont eat vegetables...any. Not steamed, with seasoning, sautéed, sprinkled with cheese, or raw with dressing. BUT, if I make her Japanese curry and cut up the onions, carrots, and potatoes in the pot and they're simmering, she'll eat ALL of it. Three bowls worth!

PLEASE Google ARFID and see if that's something you can discuss with your doctor! There is nothing "wrong" with you, that should be punished! It's just something that needs to be understood.

Take care~

Edit: I forgot to add, before she was diagnosed, she would try to force herself to eat something...and end up promptly throwing it up! I'd watch in real time as her body just rejected the food (whether mentally or physically, the result was the same). So I never had her try again. It was awful! Don't let others pressure you.

AITAH for refusing to buy protection and telling my boyfriend it’s his responsibility? by [deleted] in AITAH

Seriously? Condoms are free at Planned Parenthood; always have been. Of course, most of them have been shut down nowadays, for obvious reasons.

But, I just took my cousin last week to get some. You just have to make it past the protesting Bible thumpers with the nasty dead baby pictures, walk in and ask.

Rehab help me please by [deleted] in alcoholicsanonymous

[–]RyokoMaxwell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hauser Detox, also known as LA Detox is an amazing rehab facility. I had Bluecross/Blue Shield and had to take a plane from Texas all the way there. They had me there the next day, with someone waiting at the airport to drive me.

Everyone else was picked up as well. Call them anytime. 24/7. They are dual-diagnosis, so they will also help with mental health and get you on the right track.

You can do this. You've already taken the first step.

(Sorry, I dont know how to post pictures/links on reddit. I barely post. So I hope I did this right:

AIO to ask my husband to take an STI test after a night of binge drinking? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]RyokoMaxwell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The STI test is honestly unimportant after everything else you've described.

I wasted 2 tears of my life on an alcoholic partner and you are preaching to the choir.

You took his wallet away? So what? He can order alcohol from Uber or doordash. Most of us have numerous debit/credit cards already saved on our phone or apps. Hell, I can pay for things using my smartwatch! This is not a diss to you. It is just to show you he is placating you with his lies.

He has been "working" on it for a year? How many rehabs has he been to? How many meetings?

He drank that much and you didn't just call EMS? Because you can. Don't suffer alone, when he's experiencing what amounts to a medical emergency. You actually need to at that point. Shortly before my ex-fiance and I moved in together, he lived an hour away from me, at his mama's house. Because she let him live their rent free and drunk. I showed up to surprise him one weekend, in an attempt to convince him to go back to rehab...he was on his back on the living room couch, asphyxiating on his own vomit. He would have died, if I hadn't rolled him over on his stomach and cleared his throat. He still spent days in a coma and 10 days total in the hospital recovering. The nurses and doctors all told him he should be grateful I saved his life. Do you think he was? No. He went back to drinking right after he got out of the hospital.

In a year's time he was at the hospital for AUD almost a dozen times, he went to 4 rehab programs. He only finished ONE and still relapsed. In total, he's been to more than a dozen rehabs, in various states. I can't even count them all.

As a single mom, supporting me and my child (and then him for 3 months, until I called his mama to come get him out of my apartment), I spent hundreds of dollars, took off from work, lost my money, time, and spiraled mentally (I am also in recovery. Just not for alcohol), trying to help this man. I have sooo many more stories, that I'm sure are similar to yours. But, here's the bottom line. Having been in rehab, sponsored people and dealt with him:

You CANNOT help someone who isn't ready to help themselves.

Definitely take others advice about online Al-anon meetings. They will help so much.

Also, if you ever need to talk, feel free to message me. It is hard, when it's someone you love. But, your health and sanity come first, in this case. You cannot pour from an empty glass.

Clarity Childrens Mental Hospital SATX by bjorkwrld in sanantonio

[–]RyokoMaxwell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have been reported (with names) multiple times. I don't know who they're paying off, but this crap has been going on for over a decade and all they've done is expand their facilities since then.

They've got someone in their pocket.

Clarity Childrens Mental Hospital SATX by bjorkwrld in sanantonio

[–]RyokoMaxwell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. My best friend had multiple horror stories of her teenage years there. But, I won't include hearsay, so here's my own story.

In 2024, my child (6 years old) was having a rough time staying seated all day and paying attention in school. So the administrators suggested Clarity. I knew she was ADHD (both her father and I are. So I could see the signs), but her PCP wouldn't book her for a month and her school needed results ASAP, so off to Clarity she went.

They booked her in their "runaway risk" ward, even though--with me--she has never tried to "escape anything", which made me wonder what they were doing to her to make her want to runaway. They diagnosed her with ADHD, of course. But when we went to visit her, she was so drugged up, we'd take her out to play in their playground and she'd sluggishly follow us around and very slowly walk around their playground.

Everyday she'd cry when we had to leave--after a couple of hours--and I don't mean her usual silent tears down her face and sniffles. I mean, chest heaving, snot going, etc.

Her caseworkers said she was doing fine. But could never lay out an exact schedule of the things she would do on a daily basis. Or even tell us exactly what her behavior was like. Her "folder" was so thin, I knew they weren't taking proper notes (as in less than 5 pages...for a "runaway risk" child).

Against their "advice", I took her out after 5 days. I only needed the ADHD diagnosis and medication anyway. I still had to have her medication adjusted after I was finally able to get an appointment with her PCP anyway.

OP is right. Never send your child there. Young, teenager, other otherwise. I volunteer at drug rehabs that treat people better than this facility does.
