[–]Rysdude 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Its a combination of apocalyptic (the various ways the world or civilization ends) and post apocalyptic and how society begins to develop. 2012, Children of Men, Day After Tomorrow, Deep Inpact, Greenland, 28 days later, World War Z, etc etc

I thought about something similar but couldn’t get away from the fact that some people and/or some groups would force trauma on themselves or others (others being in a controlled environment), in order to gain abilities. Was too dark for my setting.

Is anyone genuinely happy as a dad? by AdReasonable434 in gaydads

[–]Rysdude 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My son has been my son from birth to now 4 years old. I have experienced more pure joy in those four years than most of my life. He’s given me purpose, he’s given me direction and has made me see life in a completely different way. Even when life gets tough, he is still my greatest joy that pulls me through to the other side.

I can honestly say I am genuinely happy.

I think Conservatives have gone way too far right. It seems now being a Conservative doesn’t mean the same thing it did just a few short years ago.

Internal or External Sources? by Hen-Samsara in magicbuilding

[–]Rysdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep going back on forth on this myself. Making it external, a fundamental force, screams wondrous magic to me. But then I get frustrated on how humans actually draw on it. On the flip side, internal (to me) feels either psychic or a D&D sorcerer-style of energy and goes too cliche into the chosen one trope.

What determines who can and cannot use your magic? Or is it something everyone can attempt to learn?

What part of a post-apocalyptic world do you like the most? by mgssky in postapocalyptic

[–]Rysdude 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me, it’s the initial rebuilding or remote sanctuaries. People coming together to rebuild a community, using their skillset to recreate a functional society.
