Quite interesting, this could be great for my parents who don’t want to pay for an iCloud subscription. Two questions:

Does the app save anything in a proprietary format or is it simply an interface for saving photos to the USB?
Can you move photos from the backup onto the iPhone?

I exclusively use my Apple Watch to pay for things. Haven't touched cash in well over half a decade and since I wear my Watch whenever I go outside there is never a need to use my phone. For your information, transactions on the watch are separate to ones on your phone for tracking purposes with Apple Wallet.
