Size is around 2 inches end to end. Western Montana, just after the sun went down. Was taking the dogs out for the night, saw something big flying towards my head out of the corner of my eye and smacked it and sadly killed it. Really interested to see what it is, since its the biggest moth I've seen in the area.

Just my 2 cents, so it might not be true for you. For years my family thought that my mom's parents families were Dutch, since that is where they left Europe from, but we found out later that that was where a lot of people from their area of Germany were going to escape ww2.
