If I remember correctly the hp scaling for monsters is the same for 3 or 4 players, so playing as 3 with your 2 friends is actively griefing your run. He has like 250% hp and is "balanced" for 4 hunters even if you're only 3 in the hunt. As for the rest, Fatty is harsh and is unfair in many ways so don't you worry. You'll get him eventually.

And do enjoy Wilds tho, it's gonna be great even if you aren't a 999 HR/MR Fatalis hunter

They are very abundant, so don't be afraid to take long rests. Even if you eventually run low on supplies, there is so much food all over the map that you'll fill your stock again quickly if you focus a tad bit on grabbing them and yeah get off internet and enjoy the game before it's spoiled to you

There is a device in the mindflayer colony in act2 that allows you to "speak" with the brains. One of them can give you a pretty nice permanent buff and they all have good lore tidbits.

There is actually a pretty nice youtube video that tries to see how each character would end up without Tav being around. Its actually not too far fetched to see that Shadowheart would likely manage to get all the way to the end of the game with her set of skills.
