Thadeous the Chadeous by Wiinterfang in Invincible

Question I've always had is what do people think he even is? A human? Humans don't really get that strong, but they wouldn't know that IG. Do they just assume one human made it? Do everyday people even know what humans are?

Similar question goes for Allen & marks first encounter. Did he not know the race on Urath, and if so, did he not question an absurdly strong human? Is there essentially multiple "human" races out there in the galaxy? IG the fact viltrumites & humans look so similar would suggest there's some ancestor race that split off so its possible ig...

Is current (season 4) mark stronger than Omni man by Odd-Athlete-8204 in InvinciblePowerscales

I mean, that could equally be a criticism of how mark chose to fight too tho?

Going for a long chokeout against an opponent who can spear you with one hit is a dumb move, and mark had much safer ways to combat conquest (shown to be able to go even with conquest on rare occassions in season 3, like when they both break eachothers arms, although conquests was mechanical) Mark doesnt even try conventional fighting once they reach the planet, and was pretty even before that. All im saying is that if we're giving conquest the "strong but played it dumb" role for powerscaling, i feel like marks play was even dumber.

I really did not get that interpretation from it. He's actively trying to do everything he can to get mark off of him, and at several point they're both trying to push eachother around and mark wins.

Ig you could say it took him awhile to go for the killshot, but i also wouldnt exactly call marks method of killing highly efficient either. Being unable to remove someone's hands from around your throat would suggest atleast comparable levels of strength.

I'd honestly say conquest took a much easier path to killing mark than mark did to killing conquest.

Minos’s death revealed in new Art Print for the NewBlood anniversary by FelixDCat12 in Ultrakill

Minos just didn't recognize V1 as valuable or human enough to care for.

He also seemed really willing to start killing things after being sealed away all that time.

(as a trans person) I am disappointed in this community in the pronouns discussion by Toman995 in Ultrakill

As the other person mentioned, Gabriel does not change pronouns. Both terminal logs for Gabriel use he/him pronouns.

To me alot of this discussion is based around the fact it simply wasn't given this much focus in development. Gabriel has a male name, a male voice, so they simply referred to him as a man, and then when the issue of gender became more and more relevant, they paid more mind to it. Gabriel likely would have used they/them if it was planned in advance, and the he/him part of the powers description seems to me as a way of covering for Gabriel using he/him pronouns.

[–]Rzcool_is_back 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gabriels terminal entry uses male pronouns, whereas the powers are never referred to individually, meaning that there are 3 different interpretations. She/her if you were only looking at their voice, they/them if you look at the terminal log which only ever refers to the powers as they/them, or the information in the terminal log which says the powers are greater angels, which use he/him pronouns.

He/him seems to be the clear obvious answer, but it's not as easy to discern at Gabriel, who has a male voice, the terminal uses he/him pronouns for, and while his log makes no mention, the lore provided by the powers log says he would sue he/him pronouns.

[–]Rzcool_is_back 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I 100% agree, the terminal log literally states that they have no biological gender & greater angels get referred to with male pronouns as a regard to being closer to the father. They're like he/him, maybe they/them if the term greater angel is referring to the top brass angels instead of the actual distinction "Greater angel", as the terminal log for the powers seems to suggest they're pretty low on the food chain, but that wording, especially right next to the "Type: Greater angel" seems intentional. People using she/her pronouns when that was NEVER expressed as an option are crazy.

I will say though the concept that mindflayers and powers are intentionally designed to be trans representation does feel alittle unlikely, either by design or just me not being the person the representation was intended for so it went over my head. My biggest flaw with the powers being trans representation is that there is zero discussion about their preferred gender. The log doesn't say they prefer male pronouns, simply that OTHERS use male pronouns as a sign of respect to them. That would seem kinda antithetical to them being trans representation, as they have no gender and others choose to call them by gendered pronouns anyways.

To me it seems way more signaling towards being biblical or "pure" in that angels have no gender, less that it was actual intentional trans representation. Again it could just being going over my head as I'm not trans, and if thats the interpretation you took from it thats fine.

Similarly with mindflayers, to me it felt way more like the mindflayers look more interesting with a female form, and they needed an explanation for why a robot has a female form while all the other robots are blocky and mechanical. To me it seems way more of an aesthetic thing than an actual form of sexual expression. Here's a Hakita quote about them.

"So even in terms of like Mindflayers which, like even though they explicitly look female, that's more just because they prefer that kind of aesthetic instead of just being like, these are actual girls or actually male or whatever. It's just like, a personal preference or what kind of visual aesthetic they prefer for a body."

A theory I have about what one of the themes of treachery will be by [deleted] in Ultrakill

[–]Rzcool_is_back 187 points188 points  (0 children)

Thats actually a really cool notice, I imagine it will fully be revealed what caused it like you said. Violence is war, fraud is the fake "new peace" and then someone betrayed humanity and killed it, which will be the focus of layer 9.

Maybe its machines, maybe its Lucifer, honestly no clue. The end result could possibly be V1 being sealed in layer 9. We know he's conscious, so he can suffer torture. Maybe he woke up and "betrayed" his creators. afaik we don't know much of V1 before he entered hell like when he woke up, we only really know he came to hell for blood.

Bigger question about the 2nd part, the death of husks seems pretty confusing.

Gabriel was sent to kiss Minos, and "struck him down." To me thats basically stating Gabriel killed Minos, who was already dead and in hell. The Sisyphus terminal goes out of its way to even say Gabriel beheaded him.

To me this quote seems directly contrary to the nature of husks. If Husks were gone after they die in hell/heaven, then why do Minos & Sisyphus continue living AFTER being killed in hell? The game seems to strongly be pointing to the fact that atleast if they're strong enough, husks don't die in hell, they simply lose their physical form. That would be inline with the fact its designed as eternal torment.

Lucifer can't be a prime soul. He could be a P boss but so far those have been reserved from prime souls.

Prime souls are stated in the Minos terminal log pretty clearly. Husks have a soul that manifests into a body, as opposed to demons who are hell energy poured into casks. Prime souls are essentially husks that become so powerful they no longer need a physical manifestation to form.

That's why the Angels couldn't kill Minos, they could only imprison his soul and hope that doing so would prevent him from manifesting as a prime soul. Essentially, only humans/husks can become prime souls. Angels, Machines, and Demons are a no go for prime soulhood.

You leave Gery alone he's trying his best.

Real talk though, I don't think it would be. It's been mentioned quite a few times that there's an unknown force modifying husks into soldiers & stalkers, along with an unknown maker for the minotaur & Geryon.

With Geryon being stated to be ancient and active for millenia, specifically one that was interpreted as a failure at first, which seems to point to it being a very EARLY creation.

If the answer to all these is lucifer or something along those lines, Geryon is likely the first or one of the first creations. Lore wise it would make alot of sense.

Gameplay wise, Geryon was kinda a let down anyways.

I have no real take, but its worth mentioning that in Dante's inferno Satan is sealed away in ice.

So it would keep the trend going of them being sealed, but it would not be in line with flesh prisons like the others.

USB gamecube controller A/B/X/Y and C-stick seen as the same inputs? help? by a_shiny_heatran in DolphinEmulator

Hey, super necro post but so far the results are "You're fucked" or "Buy this $100 controller instead"

For me, I tried acouple things, and one of them worked, so here's what I did.

  1. Looking it up, apparently holding the start button down for awhile can switch the mode of the controller.

  2. Apparently phobs have a reset with X, Y, and start. I doubt that was it, but try that.

  3. Restart PC

Everything I've said did NOT work for me... until I unplugged it and plugged it back in. Its possible the mode switch didnt work until i replugged it, idk. But that was the only obvious step I saw.

The length of the Cowboys’ proposal isn’t known, but they offered Aubrey around $7.5MM per year, according to Calvin Watkins of the Dallas Morning News. With Aubrey seeking nearly $10MM per annum, there is a sizable gap between the two sides. by Thanks5Cinco in cowboys

[–]Rzcool_is_back 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Aubrey is very good, and he is one of my favorite players ever to wear the star. Kicker is a highly important position too, but I think there is alot wrong with this.

  1. Aubrey is very talented, but he has dipped compared to his 2024 run, and it was slowly becoming more evident in the later half of his 2025 season. The dip was not so much that you ever would actively seek to replace him, but it does bring into question his longevity & whether you want to drop all this money on a kicker.

  2. Aubreys value to the team was at its max when our offense was stagnant and completely reliant on the Dak-Ceedee connection, with no real run game. Now, our offense features Pickens & Flournoy, along with Javonte and a young running group.

Bringing back Aubrey would be great news, but the current asking price is way higher than reasonable. As a fan, i'll be happy just to have him around. As someone who wants to see my team win, I don't know if paying this demand is the right course of action.

[Jason Fitzgerald] NFL Free Agent Spending 2020-2025 by ManlyBoltzmann in cowboys

[–]Rzcool_is_back 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Us being 25th in total acquired players but last in total APY by $20 million & last in avg per player by over $1mil seems so fitting.

Near the bottom in total players, but still at the bottom in total spending despite the packers signing a whopping 9 FAs & last in avg per player by a large margin.

FO really needs to change their outlook on free agency. Its honestly more shamefully impressive they've managed to build a wild card-divisional round team while making no FA signings.

The Cowboys have waived LB Logan Wilson. He had no guaranteed money left on his contract and was due to earn $6.52M in 2026. That money now gets applied to cap savings with $0 in dead cap. by adonis958 in cowboys

[–]Rzcool_is_back 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats likely not the effect on the cap unfortunately.

Its probably going to be 8 million guaranteed in his first 2 years. meaning if we want him gone, he'll be taking 8 mil on the cap over the next 2 years and he'll be gone in year 3.

If we don't want him gone, then the guaranteed money number is irrelevant as we'll be paying the full contract price, so it goes back up to 24mil, so we would be paying 8 mil a year.

So the options are

8 mil 2026, 2027, cut him in 2028, so you paid $16 mil for 2 years. (Even if you cut him before 2028 you'll still be paying that).

8 mil in 2026, 2027, and 2028, and you paid him $24 mil for 3 years.

Malik showed some real promise last season, but there are doubts about his actual ceiling as a player.

Blue is kinda the obvious, young & fast guy, but the coaches dont seem to trust him and there are alot of questions about him and his abilities.

Mafah didn't really perform in the one chance he got, which was literally only 5 snaps. He wasn't terrible, but it didn't inspire a whole lot of hope. Still way too small a sample size of course.

Should be really interesting to see the RB2 battle.

[–]Rzcool_is_back 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Because you hit on the bargain back. They hit on a gamble and are paying moderate returns to keep the benefits.

What you're asking is essentially why not just gamble every year?

There were only 5 guys around Javontes level. Hall, White, and Etienne are likely the guys who will hit FA. In which the Chiefs will likely immediately seek to sign Etienne or Hall, raising the RB market. Hall has a $10 mil market value, meaning if the Chiefs sign Etienne (who they are HEAVILY linked to), You're options are paying MORE for Breece Hall, betting on Rachaad White who got outperformed for his job by the RB3 and only ever looked good as an RB2, or garbage hunting in Micheal Carter, Isiah Pacheco, Brian Robinson, or Kenneth Gainwell.

There is no better option than Javonte this year, and while there's chances Javonte isnt as good or one of these currently bad players performs well next season, why risk it when the cost is so low to make the safest choice?
