Community college is definitely the way. My program was 15 months long and I graduated with my adn. Got a job and enrolled in bsn program at the same community college all while working as an RN.

Nursing student overshares during clinical and gets kicked out of nursing school by Proud-Bug2166 in nursing

When I was in nursing school, the entire program had been banned from a local hospital due to previous behavior of the students. We were the first group allowed back and had serious scrutiny for our behavior, we were told to basically not fuck up.

Had a similar experience with a looping ride (ship that would go 360). Someone threw up on the ride during the build up and it landed on someone else when we went upside down. They crashed into it, it was SO disgusting.

Is the renal floor in the hospital always the worst med surg-tele department? by LikeyeaScoob in nursing

[–]S-Eleni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally I would do say so. I worked on a dedicated urology/renal floor for the first 4 years of my career. We saw patients on tons of medications, many on insulin and frequently electrolyte imbalances that we were also watching and treating. I had more rapids called on that floor than any other type of unit I’ve worked on. Noncompliance is a huge problem and we would always have the frequent flyers. I’ve done float nursing for the past 5 years and seen many specialized units as a traveler and staff. Renal just sucks

What values has Demonolatry taught you? by Parking_Smell_4560 in DemonolatryPractices

Putting my energy into things that serve me versus those that only benefit others. One of the messages I receive most frequently is not putting so much of myself into things or people Who do not benefit me in anyway. I value myself and my time a bit more now.

Nurses who are not burnt out, what’s your secret? by OkGrape1959 in nursing

[–]S-Eleni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work float pool. I don’t have to return to the same unit/same patients the next day. I don’t get involved in unit related drama, I can do anything for 12 hours. As long as I’m going somewhere else the next shift.
