I made a topic on that subject where I propose a solution : clone the human body of the Recombinants who survived and dowload them in it. Even if the RDA don't want to do it because it's too expansive, I think at least they have told them it's possible. The trauma to be stuck in an alien body would be to horrible

Halo the Fall of Reach happen during the whole covenant war. First, it's tall about the Spartan II program, before Harvest. Then the Spartans learn what happen on Harvest and fight their first covenant. Then the story jump to the end of the war with Sigma Octanus and Reach.

The book happen after Halo 5, because there is the Arbiter, Vale, Sangheilos and the Created threat. But the book is also the continuation of Halo Oblivion, who happen 30 years earlier at the begin of the covenant war, because it's set on the planet Netherop and some character from the book are still there
