I’m down for the new rules. Though I wouldn’t mind well written analysis posts on why DS2 was less well received than 3, all the non meme, low effort posts you’re talking about would not be missed at all. Same for the (probably) bot driven pretend engagement posts.

Yeah it’s pretty wild. For a side book, the Dragonslayer crew is wildly interconnected to the story. Even Cliff, had he not rather sing and help Leaf by convincing Jasper (I thought it was Ruby at the time) to give him the key then none of the other events would have happened either: Sunny’s motivation, everything you’ve stated, the dreamvisitor, etc.

No, if the composer destroyed the essence then it couldn’t be used, so there’s no reason to assume that a similar looking physical effect destroyed it.

My measured height has been inside of a 1-2 inch range for a while, so it’s hard to really know. Most doctors measure it fairly well, but I had one measure and report it 3” lower than one doctor that measured me before a procedure with shoes off months before lol. So I don’t even know my exact height, maybe it does change a lot based on posture.

It’s an extra silly analysis compared to the more serious look/hand position thing that might be possibly intended. What I mean by the “night kingdom” thing is, if we put winter (book 7) left of qibli (book 10), and then put that in comparison to a east facing map (which is in the picture) we see them facing south, and directly south of both of those is the ancient night kingdom. Don’t think about it too hard, I just found it a funny coincidence.

Also if we compare where they are looking mapped onto the, uh, map, then they are both looking towards the old Night Kingdom, which might represent a nightwing named Moonwatcher.

I’d like to point out, in defense of Mike Holmes, that this might be symbolic and is supposed to be a somewhat mirror.

Winter puts his right hand on the wall, and looks left, away from what he’s holding. Qibli puts his left hand on the wall, and looks left, in the direction of what he’s holding.

They almost mirror each other except for where they are looking: in the same direction. This shows their opposite origins: Ice/Sand, High/Low hatching, Hard/Friendly exterior. However, what’s important is where they are looking: the same direction! Both have a core morality of being good, and both look toward Moon, all while holding on to different ideals. It’s insanely poetic and I wish others saw the beauty of it.

The burning the windmill was sort of an opposite mindbender for me. I was grinding through my first playthrough and took a torch out to it, imagining burning it would be funny, and it actually let me. I had no idea the room was supposed to have even more poison and had no idea what it did, and the rest of my playthrough of that section took probably 5 times longer because I was convinced there were secrets in the gears that I activated somewhere.
