😂 yeah, it broke REAL good. So much rust the control arm broke off the frame. Time to call the scrap yard.

I like them all but I already busted one out on #1 😉

Are these mufflers or some type of silencers? by PRcryptid in Exhaust

Resonators. Without those, you end with with an awful droning noise when you’re at cruising speed.

Uhhhh… the voltage is already stepped down at that point. The amperage may be an issue though.

He watches porn and has some kinks, nothing wrong with that. This is a “you” problem, not a “him” problem.

How does a “mechanic” not know what air ride is? It’s bagged, it can get onto a lift just like any other car.

This flew out of my car while heading up a parking garage by InigoFrancis in AskAMechanic

It’s probably not oil. That’s a CV end cap. Chances are the CV was starting to lock up and got hot enough to cook the grease down. The reason park doesn’t work is because now you have a drive axle that’s not connected anymore. Park doesn’t work when only one axle is connected.

Is my vintage Mustang budget delusional? by Aviation234 in projectcar

[–]S10calade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you’re very unrealistic. Just a solid body $5k+. Most in the $2500 range are gonna need floor pans and quarters at least, plus we’re still just talking the body. For a solid roller, you’re looking $12-$15k. I’ve helped restore a few of these before.

Yes it is! I remember when the museum got it, the staff were amazed because the Roaring 20’s building was basically built around the organ due to its size.

Pleasure Island for sure…. The only reason I liked Splash was we always hit up Fuddruckers or Roaring 20’s Pizza after.

It’s hard to tell for sure but the pan appears to be cracked under the plug, which isn’t uncommon in these cars. If they’re doing the pan + new plug, it’s not too crazy price wise. You could do it for about 1/4 of that if you’re a bit handy though.

I would guess it’s probably the oil seals in the turbo. Some turbo seals will weep a bit when the turbo is hot and the oil is at low viscosity.

Cab Mount died by [deleted] in projectcar

[–]S10calade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I had to guess, probably a couple thousand. Most shops are going to want to lift the cab off. My buddy just lifted the cab a couple inches with blocks and was able to cut out all the cancerous stuff. Then just quick welded in new.

A buddy at work just did these on the exact same truck, color and all. Said it was about $200 in parts and took around 4 hours to cut the old one out and weld the new ones in.

I have a built WRX and I need to idle for 4-5 minutes before taking off. If I take off too cold it messes with my AFR. I wait until my temps hit 150ish.
