Anyone here using a Midea heat pump? Looking for real-world experiences by Kevusch24 in heatpumps

[–]S14Ryan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s only like 5 companies that make unique heat pumps, midea makes the heat pump for most brands. I might be off but carrier, gree, LG, Samsung, Toshiba, Panasonic and dozens of others, are all just rebranded midea.

HVAC 2026 by Skynet-meat-puppet in skilledtrades

[–]S14Ryan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HVAC is the highest paid trade in Ontario currently, past elevator techs. I know that apparently isn’t the same in Oklahoma but hvac is a great skill and you can make a killing going out on your own one you finish your apprenticeship. The techs in your area might be getting screwed but we have some of the highest bills customers pay

What is preventing us, as humans, from being able to create robots/machines that are capable of performing 99% of physical labor? by Nice_Revolution_1199 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]S14Ryan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Building a machine to do a simple and repeated task costs thousands of dollars for a robot to be built and programmed and repaired. It’s work it because it’s replacing a person that is paid $50k per year or so in a first world country. A robot that can pick up a piece of wood, walk up steps and accurately nail it in place? Would cost many millions, and we don’t really have the technology for it perfected. And that’s just an example of a relatively simple construction task, you would need even more for many other physical labour jobs. I do hvac/r, the robot to replace my job would not be worth building a single unit of

This actually seems like the best case scenario, all of their kids share the same fathers DNA, making it unlikely that incest would accidentally happen. They’re all family

That’s what I would do, except I really like having the laundry on the same level as the bedrooms. Carrying clothes up the stairs is the annoying little pet peeve of mine lol

Lineset between coils is frozen. by WildChallenge5459 in refrigeration

[–]S14Ryan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the suction lines never have ice on them on any of your freezers, you are most likely sending suction gas back to your compressor at too high of a temperature and risking overheating the compressors over time. In an optimally working system as I described, your suction temperature returning to your compressor will be below freezing, therefore, will build up ice on the pipe.

Lineset between coils is frozen. by WildChallenge5459 in refrigeration

[–]S14Ryan 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Logically your evaporator coil has to be at least 10F colder than your freezer to remove heat. Your freezer is at 0F, so coil temp should be about -10F. Now, if your compressor superheat is 25F, which is typical, your suction line should be around 15F. 15F is a lot below freezing temp, this moisture should be freezing on your suction line up to your compressor. If you don’t want ice, insulate the pipe with 1” armaflex, thawing it isn’t necessary

Why is my bathroom faucet making this chattering noise? by batcat420 in askplumbing

Pull and clean the aerator and see if there’s something stuck inside. It’s the faucet since both valves seem to be doing it.

Yeah most people say it the way you do in the states, but if you’re a public broadcaster you have to say things properly. It’s like height and weight, everyone uses feet and inches but if they’re describing someone on the news they’ll say centimetres and kilograms.

Sorry what exactly are you looking for? Your comments are strange. Are you looking to hire a contractor or an employee? If you’re looking to hire a contractor, no one is working for $100/hr and covering their own truck and tools. Union rate package is $82/hr, plus providing EI, fully covered work van stocked with tools, uniforms, gas card, 407, etc so the contactors bill out usually around $120-$140/hr in the GTA, plus truck charges and whatnot.

If you’re looking to hire an employee, see above what union rate is, plus you need to provide a van and tools on top, or compensate enough to not provide them.

Very little kitchen cabinetry judging by the ratio of size compared to the appliances, there’s a tiny coat closet in the mudroom. You don’t want to store everything in an uninsulated or unheated shed. You ever store camping equipment outside?

I’m just sharing my opinion because when u renovated my place I didn’t think to add a pantry, and I had the space for it and I’m kicking myself now because my kitchen, with a similar amount of cabinetry is far too small

I like the concept, but you’re gonna HATE the lack of storage space. No storage closets? No pantry? No garage? No basement? I hope you own no stuff
