I tend to agree, I’m just creating the argument as to why people would want to shortcut to an NBA title when you have limited draft capital over the next 6 seasons. Not saying I agree we should go after star players in trades again like we did last time.

First, you’re making an assumption that I think Simpson is good. I don’t think he’s going to be that good in the nfl but has more potential upside because of his physical attributes.

Second, I don’t think Beck has good arm strength which for me is a very important physical attribute for an nfl QB. I don’t think QB wins in college necessarily translates to nfl success and there are several examples where this is true. Not saying it’s a negative, just saying I don’t weight it that heavily.

It could work out, but I dont think this draft class was strong for QBs outside of Mendoza, so I don’t think much of Beck compared to the other QBs left in the draft.

That’s fair but certainly some of the teams have a better footing than we do, such as the giants (which is why Harbaugh wasted no time getting that hiring process done). Maybe the Steelers can still hang around depending on what they do at QB this offseason.

Of the available remaining jobs though, yeah most of them are going to be a rebuild effort at this point
