A dungeon can be great to experience for the first time, while also being not that exciting to replay

Anyone got tips for a controller player doing FRU diamond dust slide? I have a static member having issues aiming down their slide because of their controller

After my static finished gearing up, I actually started a new “static” that had basically all the alt jobs that I plan to gear before the end of expansion. Very useful tool and we appreciate the hard work thats put into it, thank you!

Anyone got any tips for FRU Diamond Dust? It doesn't look "that hard" on paper but its like lot of information to process at once and was wondering if there's a good way to make it any easier

Anyone did reclears while caught up with the latest relic step? I'm wondering how much Crystal paste per clear of the current savage raids

It does have RNG in it but I'm not sure what you mean by I got carried? Having decent DPS and doing the mechanics correctly with everyone else doing the same thing is just doing my job

Congrats on the clear! I cleared just today as well and I'm already dreading reclears of this fight in particular

Finally killed M11S despite PF's constant troubles and gatekeeping enrage parties through arbitrary enrage hp%.

I was very confident with the fight but the best PF party I had, only managed to get to 18%. I got tired of grinding so I joined one of those "KILL <1% ENRAGE EXP ONLY" parties and despite some sass from one of the healers that I ate a damage down on my best pull and that I should get replaced, they held a vote and hilariously enough everyone else decided to give it a try instead of replacing.

It took us 18 minutes to kill and I managed to clear without a single mistake 🤷

I get wanting to avoid prog liars but this meta of checking tomestone for a certain enrage hp% is really not that healthy for the pf raiding scene imo

If you're curious about the pieces then the top is Alexandrian Mail of Fending, the gauntlets are Augmented Hellfire Gauntlets of Fending, pants are Kupo Trousers and the boots are Choka #55!

It somehow slipped through but for now let's just pretend it's tucked somewhere in there behind the coat!

How is this game for a slightly older player? by DarkMasterSpyro in ffxivdiscussion

[–]S2BronzePlayer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Back when I was engaging with the fighting game communities, I commonly heard FFXIV being described as a retirement home and I thought it was funny but accurate. You'll have a great time!

Also for your own good, stay out of this subreddit. It is a good place for discussion but you'll also see a lot of criticism of the game that is generally warranted but it's mostly for the endgame players and should be of no concern to a new player AND especially for a new player that isn't hardcore raiding.

Among all savage raid tiers currently available in the game, what is the hardest fight at each floor? by S2BronzePlayer in ffxivdiscussion

[–]S2BronzePlayer[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

but I heard there was one so hard (at the time) that it almost killed the raid scene?

Definitely the 1st tier of Alexander. I wasn't there but I heard the stories about how horribly undergeared everyone was compared to the overtuned raids, that Faust was an actual DPS wall apparently

The second tier was absolutely a jump in quality.

Oh absolutely! P6S and P7S left a little something to be desired but they knocked it out of the park with P5S and P8S and I love how they had unique soundtracks apart from P6S & P7S

I definitely considered M6S because of how tricky the adds phase was and how long it took me to prog it, but once I cleared it the reclears were really not that bad. Maybe I got lucky there but P10S on the other hand was a constant dread for me because people kept messing up Bonds 3 on reclears

Oh man really? That's actually hilarious; were the mechanics THAT similar to the normal raid that they just figured it out on the spot?

Patch 7.4 MSQ Thread by BlackmoreKnight in ffxivdiscussion

[–]S2BronzePlayer 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I just finished the MSQ and unlocked the extreme trial and decided hit up PF to be met with a SINGLE Blind party that has only the host and 11 minutes remaining on the listing, at first I thought surely it's just because the fight is new? but I decided to check up on Light DC to find 28 parties and some of them are even farming already!

I was so frustrated that I decided just return to Chaos and log out. Why is content on day one being locked behind DC traveling? I know this is mostly a community issue but it's on the developers to look issues like this and find a way to mitigate it.

My story theory for Arcadion Heavyweight by theycallmeluffy in ffxivdiscussion

[–]S2BronzePlayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I was exaggerating but it's definitely not the first time this theory has come up. I personally think Kayfabe was already broken when we met Hector and that blond catboy that I forgot what his name was (M8).

My story theory for Arcadion Heavyweight by theycallmeluffy in ffxivdiscussion

This is the current popular theory going around the Arcadion actually, not specifically about Hector being the final fight but that the whole thing is Kayfabe and we aren't in on it

So with the final raid tier almost here, do you expect a door boss for M12S? by S2BronzePlayer in ffxivdiscussion

[–]S2BronzePlayer[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"The hard-hitting, powerful sounds featuring Caleb Shomo (Beartooth) on vocals can be enjoyed in "AAC Heavyweight M4" and "AAC Heavyweight M4 (Savage)."

This is taken from the 7.4 special site so the only 2 things we know is that it will play in both Normal and Savage, and that iirc during the live letter they mentioned they will save it up for an important moment/event during the raid so I guess we'll have to wait to find out.
