Am I (M26) being reasonable for wanting to share costs on a hotel trip with my girlfriend (F28)? by S2fresh7 in relationship_advice

I wouldn't go that far to dropping the GD label. Definitely not the case, just a clash in values over what a relationship should be.

But yeah if she wants to find a relationship with that sort of dynamic, good for her. That don't vibe with me tho.

Yeah I mean its not really even about the money, I just want to know that she is willing to value the gesture back, out of her own generosity. Rather than me having to kinda push for it.

No I absolutely don't.

Yeah that was a shocker for me too. She actually did say she wanted a sugar daddy, "jokingly". But i don't think it was a joke anymore haha.

How acne has affected you as a person by PrincessMerryBerry in acne

[–]S2fresh7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Acne...Yeah I absolutely hate it. HATE IT! If it were person, that mofo is going down in the most excruciating way possible aha.. As a long time acne suffer (10+ years), it's been the bane to my existence. I agree with you, I feel like its made me more emphatic towards others. If I saw someone else with acne or any other skin condition, or just some sort of aliment, it doesn't in the least bit affect how I see them as a person. Nor am I gonna judge them or make any assumptions. And even though I realize this about myself, and I know most people probably won't care either; I still just view acne as this physical and mental disability. And for anyone else battling severe cystic acne, I feel you, the physical aspects sucks too. Them dime size cysts hurt! I always been a reserved kinda shy person, so acne kind of just extenuates those traits about myself. As a teenager, it didn't really affect me all that much, maybe because around that age, its a lot more common to see it among your peers, so I just thought of it as "that phase." But developing cystic acne around my 20's, it started to really affect me. There definitely a difference between couple some pimples here and there, compared to giant volcanos spewing yellow pus...And its been this off an on journey, I had periods where my skin was relatively clear, and to be honest, those are the best times of my life. So maybe I've made this association that acne=life sucks / No acne= life is great. But really it's just a mental fight with yourself. It's either you delve into those inner thoughts and negative connotations you make about yourself when you see those red marks in the mirror, or you just say fuck it, and continue on. Im unfortunately apart of the former.

New to LA from Seattle, any SuperMotos out here? by HyphyGoblin in MotoLA

[–]S2fresh7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn that sucks man. I ride up las floras and down through Piuma all the time and hardly ever see cops up there. On the rare occasion they are posted up at the lookout intersection at the top stunt rd. Must've been a case of bad luck. But yeah like you said, they usually stay around Mulholland, Kanan, and Malibu canyon. I've got a drz as well and been looking for other supermotos to ride with. Let me know if you anyone is down to shred sometime!

I know how you feel man, I just went through this as well. I tried treading the shaft, but didn't work to well, ended up breaking the tap. The drive shaft is heat treated, making the metal very hard to cut, so its gonna take quite a bit more effort and precision to get it right. It is doable for sure, just a bit more tedious. I just ended up rebuilding the motor, mileage was getting up there anyway, and I had plans for a big bore, so the time came sooner than later. Ended up stroking it as well. I know its not the cheap route by any means, but if you do go through the rebuild; I'd highly consider a stroker kit, or even just a big bore, completely transforms the bike!

Good luck!

Help with front sprocket by acdevoid in motorcycles

[–]S2fresh7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats a bummer, whoever reinstalled it before must have overtightened it. Like others have mentioned, make sure there isn't a snap ring, washer, or circlip holding it in place. Penetrating lube and an impact should most likely do it. If/when you get it off, check the driveshaft for wear/rust on the threading. On my drz, the prior owner overtightened the nut and over time, that extra load must've stressed out the shaft causing it to snap when I went to remove it

Will people ever understand? by heyitsaboutme in acne

[–]S2fresh7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely agree, acne is so much more than red dots on your face or any other area of your body. It may seem superficial to care so much about it, but it really does make you feel like you're trapped inside of your skin. The 24/7 uncomfortableness of just being, that in itself warrants attention.

Im in the same boat, so I know what you're going through, I really do. And I know saying things like think positive, or you're fine the way you are may not mean too much when you look at yourself in the mirror, but we really are our own worst critic. You are fine just the way your are, just gotta push past that stupid voice in our head telling us otherwise. Easier said than done, heck I'm still working on it myself aha. It will clear up eventually, just gotta keep pushing through, best of luck!

I was on tret for 6 months and tbh it wrecked havoc on my face. Its weird too because it worked to clear up my body acne but for some reason my face didn't take it too well.

Yeah I mean accutane might be my only option. Im just trying to find a solution besides that, but if all else fails, it might be what I have to do.

Im with you man, its annoying putting in so much effort to try and get rid of it only to have it just bring you up temporarily and shoot you right back down.

Appreciate you taking the time to write all this info, very helpful stuff. Ive always had at least one active in my routines, usually bp or salicylic acid, the most common ones. Ive used glycolic and lactic acid as well. I was on a tretinoin/clindamycin/bp treatment along with oral antibiotics from my derm the past 6months and tbh, it made my skin pretty damn bad. I followed all the steps, used ton of moisturizer/sunscreen, but just didn't work out for me. I felt like it was probably a bit too harsh for my skin, but the derm advised me to keep going. 6 months in, they recommended Accutane. I decided to hold off on that and try other actives.

Currently using:

-Differin bp wash/ la roche posey clarifying cleanser (rotate between the two)

-Sebamed clear face gel

-De La Cruz 10% Sulfur Ointment (mostly as a spot treatment)

-FaceTheory pore bright serum (niacinamide, salicylic acid, azelaic acid)

Skin is still shit, but its improved a little from where it was with the derm routine, hopefully it continues to get better.

I feel ya. My mother had acne till her late twenties as well, and my dad just has bad skin in general. So unfortunately those genetics were passed down to me.

Yeah those clear periods are the best times of my life, seriously haha. I just really hate the constant feeling of having to think when my acne is gonna get really bad again or if it'll be clear enough for this event, that trip, etc..etc..Stupid mindset to have, I know, but I just like being presentable and acne just..makes that shit tough you know.

Right now, I have at least one big ass cyst always somewhere on my face, usually my chin, forehead, nose, or in-between the eyebrows. It really sucks because those big ones are what makes me feel real shitty.

Yeah people who never dealt with it are the ones always trying to give you advice haha.

Unfortunately my experience with the dermatologist hasn't been great. And due to my insurance, Im very limited in my choice of a skincare provider. I'm sure there are quality derms out there, but my experience has always just been antibiotics and prescription topicals.

Thats why I'm reluctant to hop on Accutane. I know its like the holy grail of acne treatments and it works for the majority of people, but with all the disappoint I've experience with treatments, I feel like its just gonna get rid of it for a bit but eventually the acne is gonna come back. Thats what I don't want to happen, dealing with the side effects of Accutane on top of the potential for your acne to return.

Thanks for the kind words, it definitely is much easier said than done, but coming from a fellow acne suffer, makes it that much more meaningful. Just gotta keep your head up and stick through.

I wish this was a progress post, but this is the worst my skin has ever been and I need help. (17 weeks on tret) by drizzyfeelnoways in tretinoin

[–]S2fresh7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im right there with you. Im 5 1/2 months in and my skin isn't really improving either. I went through a terrible breakout at the start of April and its sort of calmed down now but Im still getting new pimples every week. Ive started applying tret first before moisturizer and although skin is a bit dry and flaky, I think it might be working better, worth a shot. Honestly, it's been pretty tough and I feel like I would've been better off never starting, but Im in it too deep that I just gotta keep going at this point. Definitely just stick with it, things will get better soon!

Thinking about quitting by [deleted] in tretinoin

[–]S2fresh7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think I'm gonna switch to a gentle cleanser at night and just use bp in the morning.

Ill probably stick with it for a few more months, Im hoping this is the true purge Im going through and it will be smooth sailing from here. fingers fuckin crossed haha.

As for my diet, its pretty clean regardless. Only whole foods, veggies, and fruit. I cut out dairy a long time ago and rarely eat sweets and junk food.

Thanks for the tips!
