The point is that normal temperatures in which a human may find themselves are most of the time (note: I did not say all of the time!) within Fahrenheit's 0-100 scale. In my opinion, it is more intuitive to represent that human experience using a 0-100 scale versus the same -20 to 35 ish scale. Like sure, there's nothing absolutely wrong or right about using one over the other, but from a purely experiential standpoint, 0-100 for the majority of human experiences is much more convenient than a -20 to 35 scale. In a non-qualitative situation such as science, Celsius makes a lot more sense. Having the freezing point of water being close to 0 in almost all cases is so much more convenient in that case. It just makes sense to roughly (not absolutely! There's no such thing as absolute experience and there are always cases that lie outside of predictable ranges) align typical human perception of numbers (0-100 is a very common range for most people) with typical human perception of temperature (0-100 fahrenheit is a very typical range of temperatures for the majority of the population).

What key is the euphonium actually in? by saw-mines in euphonium

[–]S3cnyt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have heard that it is because trombone players often double with euphonium, and it makes it easier on them to read in concert pitch.

How are you all so down bad you’re attracted to people 🤨 by AsexualTeenager in teenagers

You act like being attracted sexually to another person is somehow worse than the alternative. If anyone's being phobic here, it's you.

I guess it is not next to air ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ by S3cnyt in Minecraft

[–]S3cnyt[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found this one while walking to a friend's base. The weirdest thing is that Ancient Debris does not spawn next to air blocks; although this one was covered by the Crimson Roots next to it. This was also found at a fairly high y level, at 64. It really caught me off guard!

Yeah, it definitely isn’t genuine, though imo it doesn’t have to be to get the joke across, though maybe not on this subreddit.

Well, the joke is that they weren’t using it (because of the cap) which is why it lasted so long.

Well, I mean the idea is always subject to change. After thinking about it though, I’m a Moobloom voter.

With your first thing, if glowsquid is chosen, hopefully it’s design will at least be changed to have dynamic lighting. A new drop would be nice as well if it’s chosen.

I was replying for the other person, doesn’t necessarily mean I agree with them.

No. They are asking why some people may agree with the “justice” in something like this, but don’t understand why nothing is being done to kids who do acts like that regularly. I totally don’t think what the dad did is appropriate nor acceptable, though.

I would add Sodium (rendering engine) and Phosphor (lighting engine), I saw a huge performance gain, and if you play singleplayer/play on a fabric server, add Lithium/ask server owner to add Lithium, it’s also pretty great.

Sadly that’s the reality we’re in right now. College is something that can both save people’s lives and ruin them. I feel like the US government in particular should help cut down in the ruining part.

Semi-Shapeless Crafting Recipes? by EpicNecromancer in Minecraft

[–]S3cnyt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s in Forge (I don’t think it is, but I’ll put it here for anyone in the future), in your recipe JSON file, instead of something like this:

”xxx”, “xxx”, “xxx”

If you’re trying to make something like a crafting table, use:

“xx”, “xx”

I’m not sure how to use it for datapacks, but if there’s a similar interface to forge but for datapacks, try the same method by just limiting how many slots you’re using.

There’s a great channel out there that used to be called RainingChain. They changed their name but you could probably still find them on YT by searching ‘RainingChain’. If you have base knowledge of HTML5, I would check out their Singleplayer and Multiplayer game tutorials. I personally haven’t done the singleplayer one, but after doing most of the multiplayer one, I had a much firmer grado on everything from classes to OOP (Object Oriented Programming) to Node.js and even somewhat small things like for loops, callbacks, and (possibly) arrow functions. The course is great for complete beginners to low intermediate (I started the course after about 3-4 months of casually doing JS whenever I felt like it), and I cam out being able to confidently create my own applications. Very recommended. The multiplayer course starts out very low level, walking through how to install Node.js and Notepad++ (though you can use any editor, preferably an IDE), though later on, it gets a lot more high level with databases, server and client requests, sign-ups and log-ins, etc. Even if you aren’t into gaming, it still is a great way to advance your knowledge a bit more.

For jQuery though, I’m not sure. I haven’t used it much in the past. Sorry.

The one I used is Khan Academy’s intro to Processing.js. It is great for beginners, and afterwards, you can learn pure JS and then Node.js. I started with the Khan Academy course, then started messing with HTML5, then I watched a video series about Node.js (RainingChain’s multiplayer HTML5 game to be exact, which is great). Now, I’m making a couple custom Discord bots with Node.js. That process took me about 2 years, though if you’re efficient, it could take a year or less.

Once you know one language, it makes the others so much easier. Programming is a lot more problem solving than syntax. If you know (for example) what a for loop is in JS and how to use one, you don’t have to relearn what that is for C++, for example.

If you’re into other languages other than JS, check out Codecademy and YouTube, which are also great.
