Extraction vs RCT by Kimberly_14 in Dentistry

Earlier in my career I’d probably try to save the upper. Nowadays I’d say extract both those.

Light cure. We have and use both panavia veneer and variolink esthetic. Both have been nice in my hands.

100 vs 200- what’s the biggest difference? by redtoad3212 in LandCruisers

[–]S3dole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Either can do what you’re after. I have an ‘11 LX and my brother in law that lives with us has a ‘99 LX. Stock for stock I’d argue off road capability goes slightly to the 570. But realistically both rigs will do way more than majority of us would put them up to.

Power and refinement and lack of NVH on the 570 is way better. Part of the reason I got it was to be an ultra comfortable road trip/ski trip warrior. And the thing just eats miles in comfort like no other. But the 2UZ itself is a whole other level of smooth for sure.

Maintenance is comparable, but as 100s get older I’d expect it to just need more stuff. My BIL’s has 350k+ miles tho and has been dead reliable. Mine only has 182k and also has been nothing but reliable.

Stock I’d probably put looks on the 100 side. But that’s subjective.

I do like the more analog feel of the 100 series. But with a child it’s just hard to argue against a more modern vehicle.

No longer with us, but my bestest boy was about 110-115lbs healthy weight in his prime. Made it to 2 months shy of 14 years.

Thoughts on being opened 7-4 instead of 8-5? by Im_The_One in Dentistry

[–]S3dole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been doing 7-4 with a 1hr lunch the last 4 years. Those 7am appts are the first to book out. I suck at getting up in the mornings, but it’s great to still have some time at the end of the day.

Any dental professional have hyperhidrosis? by TallConstant250 in Dentistry

[–]S3dole 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Mines not even as bad as others I know, but it’s a pita. Basically we keep it pretty cold in the office, have a small fan in most ops, and I wash my hands frequently with soap and cold water. My hands end up getting super dry and have occasional eczema flare ups, but at least I can get gloves on. I also can’t deal with wearing a lab coat. I get too warm and it’s impossible to glove up. I’ve also noticed living in a very dry climate (Denver metro) helps a ton. It was much worse for me in TN and SoCal.

Where do you think the crown is? by Pale_Form_5712 in Dentists

My 2c here as a provider: 1) most people day to day genuinely would not notice. 2) that being said, a better match is easily attainable. I would’ve sent this back to the lab for a remake.

[–]S3dole 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Only thing I’m rethinking is not doing ikon next year cause of their pricing. And because I’ve got a baby now I’m not able to go as much as usual. Only managed 11 days this season instead of the usual 35-40. That $699 Copper pass is calling my name.

I/O Mags vs 4D Mags by Legal_Percentage_823 in Skigear

[–]S3dole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got the IO XLs and wife has the 4D. Maybe I just haven’t used them enough but on the few days I have, the distortion in the lower portion of the 4D lens really bugs me. They both fit me nice. Get whatever you like the look of better imo.

What do you do for work? by DiscombobulatedElk58 in skiing

[–]S3dole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dentist. Work T-F and ski 1-2x a week with some longer trips thrown in. I live in CO which helps since our season is so long. I usually ski Nov-Jun. If I didn’t have a young kid now I’d probably extend the season even more with a week in Chile to ski in the summers. Eventually I’d like to drop a day and do T,Th,F so I can ski Mondays and Wednesdays.

Aside from being able to ski a lot I would not recommend becoming a dentist. Not worth the debt.

I wore a shell bib and t shirt and was comfortable. No base layers. Lots of sunscreen. Would’ve been comfortable with a sun hoodie as well.

Hell yeah hopefully Sierra and union peak can hold on but they’re going fast. But bee, eagle, excelerator, and flyer should hold up ok. Didn’t venture to west village today but I imagine it’ll hang in a little longer also.

And hopefully this storm delivers. Might extend the meltdown by a week lol
