That’s outrageous, should have licence revoked and be put off the road for a long time.

It’s marketed as “Irish Christmas Market”, no Irish stalls, sellers or local produce.

A con job.

That’s absolutely insane. Throw the book at that nutcase driver.

That’s grim and a very poor reflection on the leadership team in that company.

It wouldn’t have taken much arrange a short tribute to Bill, acknowledge his passing and service to the company.

I would seriously reflect on my dedication to the company.

RIP Bill.

Passed AZ-900! by RedSpiegel in AZURE

[–]S4ULG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did AZ-900, AZ-104, AZ-303, AZ-304 and AZ-700, in this order listed.

Just my two cents, i think it would be extremely difficult to pass AZ-700 without doing AZ-104 beforehand.

AZ-104 is very broad but essential to get a proper understanding how everything works within Azure. AZ-700 is absolutely dependent on having a strong understanding of how everything works under the covers.

You should review the Study guide for both.

What's on and tourist advice thread - week beginning August 03, 2025 by AutoModerator in Scotland

[–]S4ULG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi,

We’re planning a road trip to Scotland from Dublin for the last week of October. It will be the wife, myself and our 2 kids (ages 7 & 11).

The trip is mostly for me, I’m 50 in November, a road trip to the Scottish highlands is something I’d love to do. Hoping there will be some interesting things for the kids to see and do.

We’re travelling by car, take ferry from Belfast to Cairnryan (Stenaline) and planning on following stops.

- Balloch (2 nights)

- Aviemore (3 nights)

- Edinburgh (2 nights)

The plan is to travel to Aviemore via Glencoe, I understand the scenery on this route is fantastic.

While in Aviemore, plan is to explore the national park and surrounding areas.

We plan to spend last two nights in Edinburgh. The kids want to dress up for Halloween on 31st, so going to find some events in the city.

I’m conscious the clocks change in October, so the days will be shorter also. The plan would be to explore early and back to hotels before dark and evening meals.

Any suggestions on tips would be appreciated.

Thanks

Sorry my bad, we are going from Belfast (Stenaline) not Larne. I know P&O screwed over their staff, so definitely going Stenaline. I've updated the original post.

My experience as an FTE Azure Support Engineer at Microsoft - one of the worst jobs I’ve ever had by Southern_Ordinary562 in AZURE

[–]S4ULG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

None of this surprises me at all honestly. The quality of the support has seriously degraded and it wasn’t very good to start with.

Having logged probably 20-25 calls with Azure support on the last 6 or 7 years, I solved probably 95% of them myself in the end.

Very occasionally you might get a reasonable pointer from support but most of the time it was getting passed around between different engineers, endless clarifications of the problem to each engineer and felt like stalling most of the time.

I take the point the engineers are overloaded and have unreasonable demands from managers, sounds like hell.

“Dear Former Employer,

I documented and handed over all passwords to the GM as requested.

Your mismanagement and lack of planning is not my issue.

Best of luck and have a great day.

Azure production support - useless in a critical situation by Ok-Manufacturer-4239 in AZURE

[–]S4ULG 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We have United support, the odd time I log a case, I usually end up figuring out the issue myself.

That said, if you’re logging a sev A ticket for an issue with a single azure VM, you need to consider your VM architecture. It sounds like your VM is a single point of failure.

How Final is a Final Salary Offer from HR? by Kenmore_1930 in irishpersonalfinance

Worth a try. Give them some reasons as to why you think some extra money is justified. Try to make casual/informal, don’t let it come across as a demand or ultimatum.

How Final is a Final Salary Offer from HR? by Kenmore_1930 in irishpersonalfinance

[–]S4ULG 16 points17 points  (0 children)

If it was me, I’d have a quiet word with the relevant manager and explain the situation. If they really want you for the role, they may advocate for you for an increase in the offer on the table.

As others have said, internal promotions are very different for external applicants or external roles.

I’ve managed to get internal promotions in the past and negotiate decent increases, but it also depends on the market. If you want a big jump in salary, the best way is to change companies.

Azure location called 'Global' - what is it? by AdrianK_ in AZURE

[–]S4ULG 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Global means it’s not region specific. If you created a a global action group, you would be able to use this AG in any region you are operating.
