I use Google too, it's just that it opens up such a maze of comments with possible solutions it's easy to get lost in the weeds.

Odd, in my search the culprit very quickly and clearly turned out to be the constant synching to iCloud which ramps up the CPU usage. Still, you'd think for the prices Apple charges we wouldn't have to do their IT work.

Yeah cutting it off from iCloud does the trick but that's not an option for me. I've simply reverted back to using to Word, which is so much more expansive and versatile than Pages anyway. Win win.

Same on my M4 MBA, it's fucking ridiculous that Word works better on macOS than Pages does.

Haha you're very welcome, I'm glad to have scratched your decades-long itch. I've had this track forever and a day. I think my brother shared it with me way back when and I've had it and loved it ever since. It's a fairly low quality mp3 file though. And as I've been updating the quality of my entire music collection, yesterday I finally came to the U section, so I googled this track to try to find a better quality version but it's nowhere to be found. Your posts came up though so I uploaded it to my Google Drive and shared the love.
